How to make your Collab succesful!

Yeah, its a bit of a read. But it helps ton. All the info is there and its can make your collab alot more succesful than the guide to a succesful project can. granted that guide did help more than nothing did but mine helps more =P

BTW RC, Maybe you should make a note to spell people's names right when you make a collab. Cause I find it so damn IRRITATING when I'm in collabs and they write my name "SSophutase" "sSoupthase" "SSoutpahse" It's not that ****in hard to copy and paste if you can't type it. Shit like that makes me drop out of collabs. And other people wont know who the hell I am if they spelled my name wrong.

I've had a bit of trouble with spelling some of the people in my collab's names, but just notify them if they've written your name wrong in the member's list.

In the code on the first frame look for the
eventDate = new Date(thisYear, 2, 21);
Change it to fit your date. It is currently set at march 21st 2008. Keep in mind the months work on a 0-11 instead of 1-12 so 2 for march [March is the 3rd month so it looks inncorrect] is in fact correct. if you want to set it to lets say this year's Christmas it would look like this
eventDate = new Date(thisYear, 11, 25);
Thats all you have to change, export your movie, [CTRL+ENTER]
Go to anitup.com host the swf file. grab the direct link.
Copypasta the URL
use swf tags like so:
[swf=URLFORYOURSWFFILEGOESHERE] Height = 100 Width = 450[/*swf]
make sure your remove the * in [/*swf]

BUMP BIG UPDATE!
Ok, I've noticed alot of people have read this sticky and formated their collabs very well and I'm actually quite proud that I made this thread and helped so many people. But everyone's or mostly everyone's ideas are total bunk [this is not directed at anyone in particular, don't be upset if I don't like your idea]. They suck rocks. So I revised what I said about violent animations being bad, they ARE good. Reread the "choosing your idea" section for all the details, but basically its been changed from violence being bad to stick(s) vs stick(s) being bad. [I did more research by watching what collabs were successful and which ones weren't over month or two]

Hay im bord right now so i didnt read the whole thing.
can u tell me just how to START a collab. (im thinking since i have this realy cool pivot animation that i could make a pivot collab with some one) this is my 2nd day as a SP member so plz dont get mad at me. (do you think SP would some how accept the collab if it gets started and done)

Funny, i thought you would get a lil mad when i copied the way you set up your collabs but then about 2 weeks (i think) after i made a collab they way you set yours up you make this on how to make a good collab format lol...

You make a thread and say "hey I'm making a mania give me your name, stick color, and a weapon or power", they fill it out, you animate it. simple, not alot of complex things going on and not even worth a tut.

well you can make a pivot or easytoon only collab following everything else in this tut, but it probably wont get finished because pivfags mostly stay in the pivot section. You can try it but I can virtually guarantee its failure.

Yeah, it was tribute to stair fall, its sort of what got me into sticks. [not animating, just sticks]

k, one more question.. when I am done with my animation and I send it too the guy that make the mania.. How can he make it fit with a other animation?
