...well, I decided to try out photoshop, so I picked up the program, set the canvas to 3000x3000 and begun to work. At first, I hated it:

the character was sloppy and uninteresting. I decided to work on it a tad more, erasing the head and adding color and shading:

still, the character was uninteresting, due to uninteresting shading. I began on a new style, starting with his demonic hand:

finally the character was coming to his own! I removed the previous shading:

but even when I fully shaded it, it was too smooth:

keep up with this thread to see the finishing of the character and addition of things like a background. :) I will also be trying to make his armor more unique and interesting through stuff like more combat wear, personal things the wearer would have put on it, etc. Oh, and I will be reworking the shading after a brief venture into the dark depths of deviantart.com's tutorials.
