He's definitely talented and some of his songs are pretty catchy, but I got bored of him after a few weeks. Also Audix, I'm sure you've heard about this lately.

He doesn't put any soul into his guitar playing. All he cares about is sounding good, which is not the same as playing good.

as a completely unbiased opinion, he sucks horse shit. From what I saw he just spazzes out onto his guitar and everyone freaks out because he's playing fast. THE ONE guitarist I knew of before this, Frank Zappa, owns the shit out of him in every way possible, every single way. If you would listen closer to his "theory" he plays no out notes, no phrases, all it is is him playing the cookie cutter scale fast over and over again. And on top of that he just looks like a douchebag.

Actually his big thing is not playing fast. If you are thinking he's fast, you haven't really listened to ANY of his music. Yngwie Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert, and George Lynch. Again, if you haven't, LISTEN TO "ALWAYS WITH YOU ALWAYS WITH ME","Crystal Planet", or "Summer Song".

Are you saying Satriani is better than Slash?

Why yes I am, and because you don't agree, I got to bring this to your attention. Joe Satriani is recognized as one of the greatest guitarists in the world by Slash. Joe Satriani plays a G3 tour with Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, and Yngwie Malmsteen every year as the headliner. Joe Satriani taught Steve Vai and Kirk Hammet, without him, Metallica wouldn't have existed as we know it and we wouldn't have seen Steve Vai(Another great guitarist) at all.

He still has nothing on Prince, Slash, Eddie Van Halen, Buckethead, Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page.
