My mother told me I will never live up to be anything, and that she never loved me.

Today I had HYS (Houston Youth Symphony) and it was our chair test. I practiced the music like crazy and ended up getting eighth chair. >:C

I got second chair on the first concert cycle... And sixth on the next when I didn't practice...

I practiced so much... Not fair! I think maybe the lady mixed up our numbers or something. I don't know. But I thought I did really well.

Ugh... On Monday, there was a gunman hiding in my neighborhood. In the morning, there were cops everywhere and they were checking vehicles before they could enter. Apparently there was a failed carjacking, and the guy shot at a policeman. Everyone was talking about it at my school, and the school near the neighborhood was in shelter and place all day.

Towards the end of the schoolday, there was an announcement saying that three of the buses weren't going to be running after school, so the kids who normally ride those buses had to wait in the lecture hall till they could get a ride home. One of those buses goes into my neighborhood. Luckily, my mom picks me up every day. So she picked me and a couple friends up, took them to their houses, and took me home.

I later had a cello lesson about 45 minutes away which my mom thought about cancelling, but eventually decided not to because people were allowed to leave the neighborhood at the time, so we went.

When we came back (6:45 ish), we couldn't get into the neighborhood. There were 3 helicopters circling around, tons of cop cars and an ambulance. They weren't allowing us into the neighborhood. Great. So we met my dad somewhere for dinner, and on the way back my friend called me on my cellphone. She said we shouldn't even try going home because the police wouldn't let us. So we went to a family friend's house and waited until the guy was caught. Turns out he was hiding in someone's shed in my neighborhood. Scary stuff...
