This is the same "separate but equal" policy that created the discrimination against blacks in the south during the early 20th century. It makes me sick to see people repeating history over and over again with different groups of people. DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE DENYING UNDENIABLE RIGHTS TO TENS OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE?! Why should you care whether someone somewhere wants to marry the same sex? Why do you want to deny rights to so many people when you have no stake and no reason to deny them the financial and spiritual benefits of being married?

The reason you don't see as many animals acting homosexually is that a gay animal cannot reproduce, therefore will not produce gay offspring. For thousands of years, however, gay humans have been forced to hide to avoid persecution which often meant having children. Obviously this makes the huge assumption that homosexuality is in some way genetic but most gays claim not to have chosen to be gay so this is what's left.

Most psychologists used to think it was abnormal. Back when there was still a huge stigma around homosexuality and most psychologists had been brought up at a time when it was still illegal. It used to be thought of as a psychological disease. It isn't any more. Psychology has advanced a lot in the last fifty years, you have some catching up to do.

1. Evolution doesn't work like that. Humans have no use for an apendix any more but we get born with one anyway. The reason is that evolution can't get rid of things that do no harm. Besides, it takes millions of years to change something like a sexual organ.

2. The part of your brain which controlls atraction is not directly linked to the sexual organs. If you had, lets for the sake of argument say, a mutation in the chromosome determining which gender you were atracted to, the DNA for what sexual organs were produced would be completely unaffected. The only way a mutation in the sexuality chromosome could affect your organs is a completely missed alele in the DNA copying process, in which case the cell containing said DNA would die.
