Indeed, the universal "rule" is: 1 out of 9 animals is attracted to his own sex.
But of course this only goes for so many creatures. Like snails can't be gay because they are hermaphrodites.

I don't think it has anything to do with attraction, really. Seems to me like animals hump it all, even if it isn't really humpable. Be it male or female, leg or tree. I don't even think it has to be living. Animals don't judge and discriminate. If anything, they are omnisexual, but to me it seems meaningless to apply human ideas and concepts of sexuality to animals.

The study of the "eendenman" (who is know for his "necrophiliac gay duck") Show that most of these gay animal events just happen because either an animal is "mentally different" or the mate in question was in an sexual positions which is a key-signal for mating with most animals.

I didn't mean not living as in dead, but as in not living. Like a stone. I don't know jack about studies on this, but I've seen dogs and rabbits "doinking" pretty much everything.
