That's very mature to say of you after spamming on MSN like a retarded cockroach.
Anyway... I've decided to start 4 days sharp from now (that'd be 2AM GMT - 6)

I am here to compete my skills to others, for example Godmouth and Nubbeh. Oh and Damocles too.

I think the categories shouldn't be locked, and if people perform better or worse than expected they can get moved up or down respectively. This would help if there is one or two people dominating in a category or the opposite.
Also, because this goes for so long, someone's skill could dramatically improve in the time. If they're good by the end I'm sure they wouldn't want to still be in beginner. Plus I'm opposed to putting people in such specific, non-changeable boxes anyway.

No, categories will be locked so that beginner category doesn't get empty :P Besides, if you are an inter and are in the first spot then you get moved in pro you lose, it's very unfair.

I think you underestimate the overlap...
Imo there should only be two categories, because you are either capable or you're learning/unskilled, I don't think there is much middle ground.
EDIT: Especially when an animator's skill is opinion based.

An animator's skill is option based? I don't know what you're talking about, do you? If you are an inter and are in the first spot then you get moved in pro you lose, it's very unfair. WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE 1ST IN INTER ON ROUND 11 AND THEN GET MOVED IN PRO FOR ROUND 12 AND BE THE LAST?! Or be moved with the same score and be the first. Moving is simply NOT GOOD. Don't come back with that idea again.
/anger >_> I had to do it. That's a big "no" up there. Caps was so I make you pay attention lol
EDIT: New goal for beginners: Each round, the 1st place winner in beginners is featured in the intermediate category as the upcoming animator.

Actually, I wouldn't care if I came last; being in pro would be an achievement enough. But oh, money, right. The scourge of friendly competition and animating for fun.
And yes, and animators skill is opinion based. It's just that most people have similar opinions of animators, hence them being deemed "better". Technicality aside, I think the measure of a good animator is entertainment, and only you can say whether you enjoy something or not.
And, I repeat, you underestimate the overlap. Just because you move up doesn't necessarily mean you'll come last with this list.
And I'm just offering input, no reason to get your knickers in a knot.

Yea, I understand what you want... sorry, it's not gonna happen. Just like you said, nobody wants to lose the money. Besides, everyone will progress so the level difference will stay the same. But, yea, let's not discuss this idea any more, it's not going to be done anyway.

63 pages for a sign-up thread, I wonder how many pages the rounds will have.
Feb 25, 2009 10:17 AM #363694
Less I hope lol We talked lots of stuff here, I hope things will be clearer and better organized when we start.
Feb 25, 2009 10:41 AM #363700
Ok, so everything is pretty much sorted right now?
Feb 25, 2009 10:57 AM #363701
Yea, you could say. I just have to re-arrange the thread by the template and it will all be ready. Start date stays 1st March tho. =P

It's because people here are just talking so much crap, either arguing what category their in, or arguing about the prizes. Whatever is done, is done, whatever Hawk wants to do he can do because its his competition, you can't make him change if he dosen't want to. So if your on here just sign up and don't argue so we can get this competition over with.
Feb 25, 2009 11:39 AM #363707
No, they can't make me change anything unless they complain about it for 63 pages or bring decent arguments. The person that's helped me here the most until now would be Master-Samus. =P Most of the others just complained about stuff they didn't like.

Alright, I'm getting excited! >:D I can't wait for the first round.
Let's see, nubbeh, lixu, damocles, and fitzy... You guys are pretty good. Can't say anything about the other inters, I haven't seen your anims.
Oh well I love you all even if you beat me down <3
