What is a "cadavre exquis" game?
Here is a definition taken from Cadavre-exquis.net :
"Among Surrealist techniques was a kind of collective collage (stickage?) of words or images called the "cadavre exquis" ("exquisite corpse" in English). Based on an old parlor game, it was played by several people, each of whom would write a phrase on a sheet of paper, fold the paper to conceal part of it, and pass it on to the next player for his contribution.
The technique got its name from results obtained in initial playing, "Le cadavre exquis boira le vin nouveau" (The exquisite corpse will drink the young wine)."
My purpose here is to make a "cadavre exquis" game based on animated flashes instead of written phrases.
How would it work?
A game leader is chosen who will collect all the players' animations. (me)
After deciding of a general theme to be followed, the first player creates a 40 frames animation. When done, he posts only the last 5 frames in the game topic. The flash file of the whole animation is given to the game leader and the flash file corresponding to the 5 frames is enclosed to the message (or PM'ed to the game leader).
The next player picks up (is given by the game leader) this small .flash file and makes his own 40 frames animation as a possible sequel to these 5 frames. When it's done, he posts his own last 5 fames, encloses the flash file corresponding and give the flash file of the whole animation to the game leader.
... and so on 'till all players have made an animation.
Eventually, the whole animated flash will be built by the game leader, merging the flash files given by each player. The reward is the finished animation itself, posted in the topic by the game leader. The magic of this relies in the continuity of the animation despite the fact that it was done by different people, not aware (or so few) of what was done by the others.
To sum it up :
- 1st player creates his 40 frames animation;
- 1st player gives his last 5 frames as a flash to 2nd player;
- 1st player gives his 40 frames animation as an flash to the game leader;
- 2nd player creates his 40 frames animation by adding 35 frames to the 5 frames given by the 1st player;
- 2nd player gives his last 5 frames as a flash to 3rd player;
- 2nd player gives his 40 frames animation as a flash to the game leader;

- last player creates his 40 frames animation by adding 35 frames to the 5 frames given by the player before him;
- last player gives his 40 frames animation as a flash to the game leader;
- the game leader matches together the animations given by each player and posts the resulting animation as a flash to close the game session (he's free to add a few frames at the end, as a credit for instance);
