This was in my own home this morning. I was late and in a hurry and forgot to pay attention to where I was going. I live in a house that was built in the seventeenth century. As such it has beams all over the ceiling at about five foot ten off the ground. I am six feet tall. I think you can see where this is going. Basically I forgot to duck and because I was late and therefore moving quite fast I laid myself out.
The beams can't be removed because the house is listed. I don't want to move house. I don't want to wake up on the carpet again with a splitting headache. What can I do?

Um, be more careful next time? Or try padding the beams with something just in case you hit them again.
This can't really be solved since you're too tall, and the beams can't be gotten rid of. AND you don't want to move.
