So, April 1st comes, and now its "OMG IT WONT HAPPEN RIGHT AWAY IT MAY TAKE A WEEK FOR THE VIRUS TO HAPPEN"
This is just stupid ass conspiracy crap going on.
Just like the whole October 14th bullcrap, and 1012
Oh, and 2000
AND FINALLY, just like that stupid machine that everyone said would open a worm hole, but then all of a sudden it "paused" and people changed the suppose date again

My Computer is slow, my graphics driver uninstalls every time I turn off my PC.

my comp teacher had all of the computers disconnected from the internet and had sophos scanning
sophos is some shitty school antivirus program, that he claims of course is the best
he also says ie is better then firefox/opera/anything else
and then he later complains about popup ads.
every day in his class is like a ffrruustration comic.

For the record, the virus won't effect you if you receive regular updates to your windows machine.
It only targets windows XP and Vista.
There are many tools on the internet that you can use to remove the virus if you are infected. Norton has one.
To know if you are infected just try and access anti-virus sites. My friend had something similar once, and it'll either block your access to it or load a different page. If you cannot access an anti virus website you are infected.
You can be infected even if you turn your computer off all of April 1st, why? Because it's constantly spreading over the internet and the mass release on April 1st is just a test to test if it can be tracked. The virus also infects your system and external devices, so if one computer on a lan is infected, or you put an infected USB onto another computer you will have infected another computer.
It's really not that big of a deal. It's not some life damaging thing, and even if you are infected and can't remove it all you have to do is re-install your OS or switch to a non-mainstream OS (linux, not Mac, macs are for fags [ignore the fact that I'm writing this from a mac]) that isn't going to be targeted if you are that paranoid about virus's.
At first I thought it would be neat if this was just a giant conspiracy to get people to turn their computers off for a day and conserve energy, but none of the news stories expressly told people to turn their computer off. However the first thing the average american is likely to do is turn off their computer. So... maybe.
