"At this day and age, I expect all smokers to be extinct, save a few that weren't able to quit. I mean come on guys, I understand that dozens smoked back in the day, but with our knowledge of cigarettes, why are there still smokers out there? Marijuana, I understand, you at least get something out of it, but cigarettes? Give me a break"

So your physics teacher doesn't know nicotine is a drug? For shame.

Tried it once, but I don't smoke. It was yucky.

Tried it for like a week. Didn't like it, haven't smoked since. Except cigars. Cigars are awesome.

Also it being hard to quit seems to be utter bullshit. I have a friend who smoked for about a year, and then found he was getting rashes on the lining of his lungs because of it, so he quit. No patches or anything, he said it was one of the easiest things he ever did.

Wut.

Depends on the person. Depends on how much it's grown a habit as well. The physical addiction to it is very easy to get rid off, but if it's a big habit, the psychological addiction is the problem.

2 years a go, back when I was a chav, I was a full time smoker. I would spend all my money on cigs, and choke like a whole 10 pack in an hour (sometimes), but a lot of the time I'd make one pack last a day. I'd buy a pack a day if I could afford it. I did this for about 9 months. And then when I went out of the chav stage, I stopped, just like that. I don't see why people say it's too hard to quit; I smoked for a year and quit straight away. Now I hate smokers, and I hate what I was. I think it's disgusting and pointless.

Smoking isn't good for your health, so I don't smoke.

Haha no its so easy to handle... It just matters how... "experienced" you are with life... It's hard to explain; but the people who smoke it constantly, thats different; they just dont know anything haha.

And yah, when I have a cig during the day or soemthing I love to enjoy the looks of nature; it just calms and relaxes me...

When I smoke weed, I attatch to nature in a "spiritual" way... Thats why I love to smoke marijuanna :]
It helped my "inner focus" as people would call it.

where the hell were you?

Like, somebody-else said, it depends on the person.

I have a friend, a really cool friend of mine, who smokes one or two cigarettes a week. I told him to stop, and he said that he enjoyed it.

He knows their bad, he just enjoys them. And that's part of the reason it's so hard to quit is because some people actually do them for pleasure, not to look cool in front of their chav friends.

My dad's been smoking since he was like 13. Now he wants to quit, both because of lung damage and the cost, but he's having trouble.

My dad smoked for 20 years and he quit within a week just by chewing gum. He didn't experience difficulty he said and I didn't see any so if he was lying, he was great at keeping in his suffering lol

He's been off for around five years now.

I quit cold turkey after smoking a few months. Quite easily, actually.

My dad smoked for years and years, and it took him a while to quit. He had to use this fake cigarette thing to help him. He hasn't smoked or used anything like that for 19 months now :)
