But in this instance attempting to hold on to that last shred of illusionary dignity that he thought he had he was obviously going to have to give up several hours of his time and seriously piss some other people off. It was obvious from the outset that the best path for everyone would be if he just let them look in his car for five minutes instead of being a cunt. It's not even as though he had anything to hide. If he'd had a small stash of weed in the car then fair enough, play it by the book and try to get out of there without getting yourself arrested but in instances like this it must be better to bend the rules slightly.
Classic British mentality, when anyone puts pressure on you, or any conflict arises, you just fall down and let your rights be trampled on, I mean seriously, I should quote you on this post in the debates we have in the future, your mentality is so pathetically weak and defeatist. He was holding on to his RIGHTS, GIVEN BY HIS COUNTRY. Not illusionary dignity. He wasn't being a cunt, he was refusing a search, which is his right to do, I think he could have been a little nicer about it, but I applaud his courage to stand up to the last minute for himself. BEND THE RULES? Are you kidding me right now? you want him to actively give up his rights, just in the name of making it easier for someone to break his rights and give them an easier time doing it?

No, I agree that the police may, if he is acurately recounting the story, have used excessive force, although I suspect there is a lot of exageration in there. What I really object to is when [for the sake of not having an argument I will say] people decide that their "rights" are more important than doing the best thing.
His rights are the most important thing. They are above any suspicion, they are above any time it takes to file police reports.
Ive had quite enough of you for one day, man. Don't expect a reply for awhile. We are the exact opposite in opinions.

no he was being a cunt, the police want to search you for whatever reason your going to lye down and take it because there the ****ing police.
Actually no, you consider your rights, ask them politely if they have probable cause or a warrant, if they don't, you ask to be on your way, and then by protocol they tell you okay. Done and done.
Pussy.
People always have such a good understanding of their rights, yet no idea of their obligations.
You have zero obligation to the police unless they have a warrant or probable cause.

Politeness =/= Giving up your rights. And like I said, he should have been a little more polite, instead of having the pissed off tone, but the steps he took in concept were completely just and in the right.
I hate human rights campaigners.
I hate pussy Englishmen who think they know everything about America and how we think, but in fact have it backwards. That includes pretty much every English person who debates actively on this forum. Funny how that works, all the English people like to tell us Americans how to behave and act, but we never tell you to do that unless in defense.

It would have been over a lot quicker with politeness.
And no way is it giving up your rights. You're enforcing your rights but in a calm and unthreatening way. Your are obliged to be polite, in my opinion. Police are not the enemy.
I agree with him being more polite, okay? You reading this? I think he should have been more polite to them. Okay, good, now you understand that I am agreeing with him needing to be more polite to the police officers, because I said it a few times to you.
Maybe being hypocritical, but like I said, you guys always ALWAYS start it. Then me and members like strelok have to come and troll you because you do not understand us. look back on any debate on America vs the UK and you will see that a UK citizen member would have misjudged or thought they should tell us how to behave and live in our country. Its there, I garuntee it.

NO, NO I DID NOT, GO BACK AND LOOK AT THAT EQUALS SIGN USTARTIN. SEE WHATS IN THE MIDDLE OF IT? YEAH, THATS A BREAKER, MEANING IT IN FACT DOES NOT EQUAL THE SAME THING.
Caps lock is cruise control for cool, etc.
Fun fact, after trying to understand how you guys might be thinking the way you do, I raged so hard I got a nose bleed, I kid you not.
