Edit2: Ok, my plan is not flawed, yours is. I'm always right. All we have to do is change the position of the lines to somewhere that is indefinitely long, only four men wide, and had ammo boxes every fifty metres. Problem solved.

That is why we have riot shields... And those guys with riot shields have bats. Also hitting a zombie in the face with a sub machine gun is bound to cause at least a bit of head trauma.

Its illogical to think that you would have access to that much ammo, we are talking thousands of rounds here.

I like the riot shields Idea, but you should just have melee weapons hit the zombies, then riot shields protect, hit the zombies riot shields protect, etc. And not in an attic, there is rarely an escape from that.
