Flood I'd have to say that depends on what youve heard. Like I've heard that zombies are normal people by day but zombies by night, but they have no memory of it. I'm probably completely wrong.
Living on a ship would be very hard and risky. What if some on the ship got infected and then it spread like wildfire? Youd be stuffed. Unless you could kill the original quickly.

No, zombies have no night/day cycle. Once a zombie, always a zombie.

How would someone get infected? The virus isn't airborne, and there would presumably be no zombies already on the boat. If you meant when the ship docks for supplies, then that's reasonable, but since it'll probably be hours and hours, even a day, before they change, and it's fairly easy to take care of one zombie, there's no chance that anyone would have to worry about such a scenario. The virus isn't fast like in 28 Days Later, where you change within seconds after being bitten; it takes time, so even if one person gets infected, manages to get on board without anyone noticing he was infected, and then change, then bite someone else, it'll still be a while until that victim changes into a zombie as well, unless the zombie that infected it happened to bite it's jugular or something, causing a quicker death and resurrection.

I assume he was talking about the infected in "I am Legend/the Omega Man", but those don't change either. They just hide from the sunlight.

something that's more dangerous than the zombies are the people who carry the virus, but aren't affected by it. like in "Quarantine Defender" you have to kill civilians running away from DC because they carry the virus. it's a good concept.

There are no such people in our zombies, though. There are no immunities, no cures, and no way to stop it. Once you get bitten, you have a few heartbeats before the virus gets to your heart, at which point you are finished.

Uhh... Shoot everything that moves, Piss myself ever few hours from zombie attacks, Constantly board windows with floor boards, and keep counting my ammo to pass the time when zombies aren't attacking.
I have no idea what I would do about food. The food in my fridge and cabinets would last me maybe a few months let alone what I could grab during the zombie invasion.

Quote from ZedI all seriousness I would live in a treehouse with a rope ladder that I could pull up so that I would be safe and then I'd go out looking for food each day whilst carrying a machete to carve through all the zombies that would be surrounding me and lop off any infected body parts.
Someone comment on my idea. If a zombie attack happens tommorow and I try this and then it turns out that there are hidden flaws, I'm blaming you guys for my painful death.

Good idea, would be incredibly boring though. Also, pile of zombies on which other zombies can walk.

I'd bring tetris. I'd get two consols and leave one in some house charging whilst I played on the other, then switch when I went out for food.
As for the zombie human pyramid, every once in a while I'd go down and kick the bottom guy in the shins.

God, it's genius! What if your machete breaks?

Ooh. Tree branch? Maybe I could keep a few spares. My treehouse would look like that sword-makers house in 'Kill Bill'.

...No, Zed. It won't work.

I'll just get me a really good machete. If it looks like it's starting to wear out - wobbly handle, etc. - I'll try to find a new one. Or I'll die.
I might keep a shotgun with one shell, just to commit suicide with if I get ireparably bitten.

With the tetris thing you are assuming that the house they were in would have electricity to charge the console, which they probably wouldn't. So you would have to use a generator, which needs gasoline, what would you do when the gas ran out? Tree houses aren't very large, nor do they have thick walls. Since no one really knows how zombies sense human beings(the zombie survival guide says it could be smell or a sixth sense) Then you would draw lots of zombies to your hideout. And they would come in droves. You are assuming that you could take 3-4 zombies at once, which you probably could, but what if your treehouse got swarmed by 25-50 zombies? How are you planning to get out? You can't use explosives, or fire, without destroying your own hideout.
A rope ladder is always a good Idea, but I don't know about treehouses.

Rooftops or attics usually works best. (In my experience playing zombie survival games.)
