If you still need people, I can do both art and lyrics. I am an artist with words, skillfully forming them like..
i also have a really, really good internet humour!RIGHT? RIGHT?
i can actually also do backing vocals, as I used to take singing lessons last year, and also was in a choir.
also, i haven't really read through the thread, so you may have answered this, but how are you doing this? will it be a joint, where people add their instrument one by one? If so, the first one should specify key and meter, so we don't screw up royally on that part, and lyrics should be written and added after the instruments.

For the sake of simplicity I'd stick with 4/4 time. And as far as the key is concerned, uh... I don't know, C major/A minor is probably the best choice, but even as an instrumentalist I don't think any key is inherently simpler to play in than others.
We don't have any music writers on board, it seems.. I'd also be willing to do that, and my favorite keys are G major, F# minor and Eb major. I can probably write in any key, though, so it's not too much of a concern.

Oh, and I'll also be willing to do some art for this if needed.

No keys are really easier or harder than another, as you said, but the musicians need to know them, as certain tones are dissonant in certain keys, and I assume most of the people here don't know which these are. Take for example C minor (which in my opinion is the coolest key). A C minor scale is made up of the tones C, D, E-flat, F, G, A-flat, B-flat and C (try playing an A instead of A-flat, it will be dissonant). Now, if half of the musicians follow this, and the other half don't, we'll get ourselves a really weird piece. I'm not saying it's holy shit impossible to break the key rules, but in order to stay on the safe side, I suggest we shouldn't. In that sense, C major and A minor is probably the easiest, as you said, as people can just remember not to use any flat or sharp tones.

I don't have any authority over this group, but if I did I wouldn't let in anyone who can't stick to one key signature. There's enough people here to cover the significant instruments necessary and anyone who'd be playing the less important ones have no place in this project if they can't play a simple diatonic scale.
