I think something along the lines of trance/techno/house/alternative rock.

Quote from -Hawk-I think we could pull out something similar to Linkin Park, I think we have the resources.
..linkin park? I don't see anyone else here going for that, including myself

those are four very different genres that aren't usually combined...
is anyone here actually serious about this?

maybe we could do something in the style of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysSxxIqKNN0 this.
maybe not music style, but the video.
Also, do any of you guitarists know the pentagonic scale for solo's?

Quote from ScorpioxxxI thought about bumping this a week or so back.
And this is why I want to make love to you.
So seriously guys, does anybody, (Scorpioxxx, Audix [my one true love], Exilement) want to take the lead on making a song?
One, I love you three guys, and anyone else with the cajones to start making a song.
Honestly I don't know much about the music making process (as I am terribly inept at music) so I think we need to come up with a system, like:
Someone rights the song
Someone sings the song
Someone designs music to go with the tune
Music animation made with awesome
Hit song.
Or whatever.
I don't know.
Help me out guys.
I promise to stay active this time, I want to see this work.

Vocals probably aren't the best starting point for a song.
My guitar pedal didn't come with the cables necessary to record directly to my computer, so I kind of forgot about this. Maybe sometime this weekend I can record myself playing a few riffs and chord progressions with my digital camera. Once we decide collectively on one of those I can write more parts around it, but someone else is going to have to take care of the vocal work. I don't know anything about that, especially lyrics.
Also, I know it's been said, but everyone who's on the list right now better have the proper equipment for recording. I'm having a hard time believing the two drummers here have a mutli-microphone setup to record properly. If there are people on that list planning on recording themselves through the microphone that comes with Rock Band or something, they better drop out now, especially if I'm doing the mastering as well.

In my garage we got a huge PA system to play music too. That way I can actually play to the music made at the moment. Once I actually get the whole set down I'll play the tune by itself. We got multi mics surrounding the entire place. And then we've got some apps on my computer to master out the beat and sound. That way it doesn't have the echo to it.

I will never let this idea die. Ever.
So, how about we do a cover of a song to see what we're actually capable of?
That'll be easier to get started, easier to get started, and if we can do it it'll make us more likely to make our own music.
:/

I'm still in this, but I don't see much chance for me to be able to record shit, which blows a little.
Still, we need a plan of things to do.
First thing we'll need is the song written down I guess. Melody, Chords. Then lyrics.
First thing to be recorded in a studio are usually the drums or the rhythm guitar. Then it's either lead guitar or vocals. Throw bass in wherever you want. Synths and shit like that is usually added last.
That's the timetable I'd stick to, but you gotta know. It's just about time we get one.
