At this point, since it's more of a brainstorm than a debate, I guess it should be in the Games section instead. I was hoping for it to be more of a debate about what is required of an MMO and how to implement it into a zombie theme.

Move it if you will.

if you want a game were players can play as zombies or humans you could:

--rather than have health or along side health,you could have an amount that a player is infected by zombies, the more infected they are the more zombie like they become. for example say someone is infected 60% now they can no longer use weapons, and at 90% they no longer have control over who they attack, but have bonuses too like the more zombie you are the less damage you take from being attacked and to correspond with your guidelines, when your a certain high percent zombie you can only die from head shots. you could also add some sort of "cure" that reduces the amount your infected. this would add another aspect to the game letting players have limited control of weather their a zombie or not. this would also add a large PvP aspect to the game with zombie players fighting human players often(or you could limit PvP areas or whatever you want)

--have towns that are usually safe but randomly are invaded by zombies/ destroyed zombie towns that are safe for zombies with military invations.

*-*lots of non combat skills and mini games to avoid repetitiveness such as:

--have a skill or mode for capturing zombies allowing you to get a bounty for the zombies you capture, from like a scientist or something.

--a mini game or skill were you experiment on zombies to learn more about them.(playable as humans, benefits you when turned into a zombie)

--some sort of player vs player arena

No, I don't like the idea of the player having a gradual change into a zombie like that. In RPGs, having low-health penalties is a cheap, game-breaking thing to do, and makes the game mroe difficult than it needs to be.

this is a great idea. I have like 2 shitloads of weapon sprites, but they kind of suck for this if you want this to be an actual game, not a crappy one.

also, add random army AI running all over the place and isolated pockets of army soldiers inside of buildings that you can help out or kill them and take their ammo and equipment. and, i know this is cliche, but have a store which sells weapons at horribly high prices, and also that the map could be pretty big.

-place the game somewhere in nevada/california, where there;s a city, a desert, and a forest.
-->the city is overrun and there is scattered pockets of resistance. you suffer no real disadvantages from being there, except for the zombies.

--> the desert is a massive hunting ground, with huge waves of zombies and surges of army in the desert in a mad attempt to reach the tent camp of Sol, which is mostly hidden. you suffer from lack of movement and health while in the desert. You cannot carry as much equipment inside of the desert due to the sun.

--> the forest is completely crawling in zombies, which are almost impossible to see in the dark. there are three zones, the 'green zone', which has the quiet town of oakland, then there's the 'yellow zone', which is generally a DMZ between the locals and the zombies. then there's the 'black zone', which was where a forgotten town which was on a major ARMY supply route was attacked and overrun with zombies. the black zone carries A LOT of suppliues and stuff.

just ideas, so dont rage on me bro.

PvP everywhere. There wouldn't be people fighting left, right and center though, as they'd get ****ed over by the zombies. This would(hopefully) cause there to be groups of survivors warring with each other for ammo and such.

Zombies would decompose faster in the desert. It would be hard to sustain any real numbers.

They'd decompose even faster in the forest. Forests are usually fairly warm and very humid, and both conditions are favorable for bacteria that does the decomposition.

imho, if you were going to make a zombie surrvival MMO, but not making any special characters only different stats and shit. it would never work. i find the theme of zomibes now to be kinda overused.

if you were to make it, the fact that if you were a zombie and could only move at a cetain pace, and you were stuck in a low popualted area, how would you go about that? if you were to play as a zombie, how would you revert back , just die and come back as another person?

it would be like playing an endless game of kisschasey where you force the zombie to eat your bullets, or force the human to french kiss you.
