I think they both look like shit, but I'd go with the Gibson.

Gibson is much better than Fender at making guitars, but Gibson is a bit pricey compared to Fender. I still choose Gibson, because it's a good investment.

Gibson is like the Mac of guitars. You can get the same quality for way cheaper. You're pretty much paying for the brand.

epiphones are quality copies of gibson guitars, the epiphone sg will cost alot less than the gibson for the same sound quality

Not every guitar sounds the same, so you can't really say that. Also, Epiphones are of cheaper quality than Gibsons.

Regardless, I have both and love both very much.

Well my parents are cheap so if I'd ever get a quality guitar, it certainly wouldn't be for a gift.

My vote goes with Fender because Hendrix used a Strat.

My grandpa got it in 1949. When he died, he left it to my dad who gave it to me because I play guitar.
