When you guys didn't ban Miniman, when he was swearing, I first thought I guess not much punishment is going to happen as they expected this reaction. But then when Gavel gave an infraction, that contradicted that, thus rendering this a joke.

I have to say, Gavel, 2-D, and MiniMan were playing this prank pretty close to the chest. The smarter members (like Ash, etc.) probably figured it out quite quickly after reading some of their posts.
The best way to do something like that would be to not only include the NTF and the mods, but to also pick out all the members who the masses would most pay attention to and make sure they are in on it as well. Then everyone could play the same game and trick all the gullible people.
