If they came with some revelational proof of something amazing to us, there would be a bigger uproar than the initial "holy shit aliens are here" reaction.

you forget that we humans are incredibly stupid as masses, and besides any alien technology would probably be enough proof for most of us. with humans when huge change occurs massive death usually follows, so i would rather put off any aliens showing up for a long while.
First off any type of holy event (its gonna be considered holy) thats not approved by the catholic church beforehand must be destroyed, so I'm kinda looking forwards to the epic battle between the two.
There will most defiantly be a mass amount of brown nosing to the aliens, first of course the self appointed "intellectuals", for the obvious reasons of all this new knowledge will certainly make them cream their pants. oR because they know tat we as a species are massively inferior to the aliens and we better do what they say because if they want us dead well shit haha looks like we're screwed eh? There is of course the usual scared crowd which probably makes up 90% of us.
Past abductees and people who have claimed to see aliens wouldn't be as scared. As long as their abductions were from the late 60's era, when we pretty much did think aliens were among us and they were taking over our world for a variety of reasons. They would probably be called in for some kind of thinktank (like we did in the 60's) about how to properly deal with them and junk. Which of course is a horrible horrible terrible idea as they are probably as accurate as most people are of anything.
ha nah not really. kinda just felt like posting something cuz I used to read a lot about this stuff. it really is interesting, anyone who is even kinda tickled by the idea should read mothman by john keel, his hypothesis are funny but the shit that happens around him is crazy.
