no, magnetism is a totally different force... the concept is the same (opposite 'charges' attracting one another) but atoms are not attracted to one another magnetically.

Actually, I remember reading somewhere about why Water is a great cleaner.
The H2O molecule is dipolar. It has a positive and a negative magnetic pole.

Atoms themselves may not be attracted to other atoms through magnetic forces (which I think they actually do), but I'm pretty sure that atoms are held together through weak electromagnetic forces.

--Edit--
Oh Snap, I was right.
Quote from Wikipedia
The electrons in an atom are attracted to the protons in the nucleus by the electromagnetic force.

ok, electromagnetic is not the same as magnetic though. i'm pretty sure electromagnetism involves those weird waves that light consists of, but i don't know how that relates to intramolecular forces.

and i'm still pretty certain that the negative/positive charges of electrons and protons are not the same as the negative/positive charges of magnets.

Why do you care for shit like that? Science is completely ****ed already, it proves nothing.

They are actually very similar.

An electro-magnetic wave is surprisingly different.

Science could do WAAAYYY better stuff than solving the 'mysteries of atoms' these days. It was good in the past, when normal people didn't live like they wanted to, so scientists made inventions. Now, when everything's swell for people who actually SHOULD live (not the worthles, trash-people), we should solve... other mysteries. Think about it, and you'll know what they are.

maybe they should solve the mystery of why you're such a shitty poster!

they could discover whether you're trying to make stupid jokes or if you really are such a dumbass, that'd be a good use of science.

Prove me wrong before you claim I am covered with faeses.

By the way, I'm not religious, nor I believe in science.

I'd settle for Popular Science running an issue on that.
