Why the hell isn't marijuana legal?

IMO, even if it got legalized NO ONE would make money out of it because everyone would grow there own, sure after your plants bud and die your going to be all out untill next time but if you grow enough you wouldnt be out... ever. If this happend, the whole country would be monged out the whole time, families that grow up with it will often stay with it and they will introduce it to there friends and so on. Eventually the world would become a ruin etc, but this makes me wonder why have they not banned salvia?

People don't grow it to smoke, they grow it to sell.

There is money to be made in weed, it's practically the unofficial #1 money making crop in the US and medically it's less harmful than alcohol which isn't and shouldn't be illegal.

I think that weed should be legal. I smoke weed everyday and i dont think it effects my life really, like i might be high but i can still do and acomplish anything i want to do everyday. people i think just over react on it. but i dont know. i gues thats why im talking just in this forum lol. -1 Hitter Quiter-

By keeping marijuana illegal the War on Drug Trafficing continues. With this war the U.S. has recieved more
military funds to advance their technology which is still kept hidden from us. Gun manufactuers also make more
by selling guns to cartels that then take the guns back to their leaders. If marijuana were to be legalized the profits
would go to businesses instead of drug lords. It would also be harder for youths to get a hold of since the illegal demand
would go down and the DEA's funding would be cut. So technically with legalization more jobs would open up for us
and violence along the border would stop. The only reason it isn't legalized is because it would mean that the
government wouldn't need as much money to try and stop the trafficing.

Note:Out of all the weed smuggled into the country, the border patrols only manage to stop 1% from coming through.
