If you get 10 frames into an animation and start getting slack, thats where you will begin to fail, and sooner or later your animations will look shit.

Or try some random test things to get back into it.
Normally when I start off rusty, I make a new flash file and draw something random, and then animate it until ti starts getting better.

Alrighty. I know it'll take longer, but try doubling the frame rate and frame count, and fill in the new frames with slower motion. looks smoother that way. 24 frames for something, compared to 12 frames for the exact same action kind of thing. less variation per frame, but more overall input to your eye, leaving less sharp movements. Too much explanation? Maybe. But sometimes it's better to be safe, eh?

I recommend starting with line so you don't have to worry about wobbliness and redrawing, and you can focus on easing.
