That might just be your problem

The facial symmetry didn't bother me as much as the hair. It didn't seem to follow a good structured hairline. I mean i can see where the hair comes from but in that general area the hair criss-crosses and goes in random directions.
I loved the color and the shading. The muscles in the face and the neck exposed through it make it look very nice. The center lower part of the neck and the nose I thought were done especially nicely. It looks clean and unified. The only things I see bothersome are the hair, facial symmetry and the apparent shoulder width. the total shoulder width is cropped out but I form what I see I think the head length versus the shoulder width is a bit out of scale. The length of the clavicle is usually ALMOST a head length, so it may help to measure that.

If someone came into my thread posting a "corrected" edition of the posted work unwarranted I'd be more insulted than grateful. But I'm probably alone there.

Also I do make an outline before starting to paint, I just forgot about it because I only use it for like 20 minutes.
This was my base concept:

A bit messy.
I'll post the improved version right after dinner.

UPDATES:

• Lowered the eye
  
• Resized the eyes to match each other
  
• Made several skin improvements
  
• Stretched the mouth
  
• Added several new shades and minor hair changes.
