As I said with "fear being the media's favorite way of making money," what I was meaning by my last post is that the Mayan's calendar wasn't actually counting towards the end of the world. At the risk of sounding like my dad, who is a stupid conspiracy theorist; The calendar was just said to be the date of the end of the world, as a way to make money off of everyone's fears. I'd bet that all the news companies and stuff in the media have made billions off the 2012 prophecy thing so far, from how many stories and books they've done about the topic.
What the calendar could actually be is a clock which has marked down what astronomical event happens when, and resets, every time that the "big event" which would be happening on 2012, happens. Since this event happens continuously, and has happened "4 times already."

It's Me... That was a horrible typo.(The second one) What I'm saying is if it was just the year it could be the first day of the year or the last day of the year so why would we freak about such an uncertainty. What I don't think makes sense is there religion to me it's confusing as hell, so I guess it's kind of an opinion like thing when it comes to understanding them.

Time to post a rebuttal.
Cosmological argument.
I win.

Ha you should of heard what this one dipshit said about our gravitational pull will do, he said we can move our planet with the asteriod. What a f*cking idiot huh?
Jan 13, 2010 7:25 AM #536157
not really
large masses do have their own gravitational field
it really depends on how big the asteroid is and how close it comes to us... for example the change in height of the tide at the beach is due to the position of the moon and the effect of it's gravity on the water and the moon is pretty far away.
of course, the asteroid won't throw us off course because the earth is much bigger than the asteroid. it will still make a slight change to our orbit around the sun, but not a significant one. the asteroid, on the other hand will be thrown off course completely by the earth's gravity

I understood what you said, but he thinks we can MOVE it anywhere. But yes, what you said is very true thank you.

probably he misunderstood the concept
