So hey guys, how about that Haitian earthquake and how nobody really seems to give a shit about it in this thread after page 3.

I'm worried that this disaster is basically going to neuter Haiti and they won't ever recover without major foreign intervention. They basically don't have an economy or a way of obtaining fossil fuels because they barely have money. They've cut down 98% of their trees for fuel, which is going to make future disasters even worse. This one is going to go far beyond the initial disaster...

But isn't the U.S already helping LOTS with the $100 million they've provided? It could be an oppertunity to build things from scratch better than before but I doubt that will happen with how much they need.

a bunch of the world's best tennis players are doing a charity thing here in melbourne, they're playing doubles or something and you can watch for only $10 per person (which is ridiculously cheap for tennis)

my mum is there right now actually

A devestating earthquake happened. Let's start a media fest.

Everytime when some disaster or something happens, the media has to ****ing talk about it for months. OK WE GET IT! AN EARTHQUAKE HAPPENED!!! Yes we should pay tribute or donate or something like that, BUT YOU DONT NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT EVERY SINGLE ****ING DAY!!!!!!!

Also have you noticed that the U.S. haven't really done nothing to that Chinese earthquake about a year or two ago.

That's because the Chinese can fend for themselves. They have the equipment to deal with this stuff, and anything that technology can't solve they're renowned for simply throwing people at. Haiti on the other hand, has nothing.

That's really pathetic. Haiti is a country where 225,000 children are basically enslaved because their parents have nothing. They have a 60% unemployment rate. Practically nobody in Haiti has anything to their name, and now many of them have less than that.

Maybe you should try to be a little bit more human.

It's hard to be human when there are so many more important things to worry about.

You know why that is?

Did you donate?

Yeah, didn't think so. And that's why.
