Ugh I can't stand male Shepard. Sure he's cool in combat, but he's god awful in the cut scenes. Maybe it's just me but his voice / acting is so generic and awkward. Tried a female Shepard and she seems to have more character.
Here's my sexy blonde lesbian shep.
I say post up your custom generated characters...

Quote from LakEThere's a few perks to importaing a character.
Level 60 character:
Start at Level 5
8 Squad points
Paragon/Renegade filled 10% (If it was at 100%)
Credits: 150k
Palladium: 10k
Iridium: 10k
Platinum: 10k
Element Zero: 10k
For a level 50 t's scaled down, increasing a little with each level. I think you start at level 3.

the reason i play as a male shep is precisely because in cutscenes he doesnt stand out voice wise. i see him less as a character and more of a void that i'm filling as the player to do my bidding

I will be so goddamn pissed if I lose all my HWMSR X assault rifles and all that good shit.
Jan 31, 2010 6:33 PM #542180
You lose all equipment from ME1. The weapons are pretty shit in terms of variety. Really dissapointed by that.
Amazing game, though. Got it Thursday, completed it today. I think I've put 30 hours in to it already. I got addicted to scanning and ended up with more than I needed.
Time to play through it with a new character.

Of course you're not gonna keep your level and items lol. That would make you overpowered.
Man, Im forcing myself to play through ME1, I already got ME2 but havn't played it yet. I already 95% finished ME1 once with a vanguard, but because hes so goddamn boring, I restarted the whole game just to become a sentinel (Which I will prob be now cause they own) so its been tiresome and annoying to play through everything again for the fourth time (restarted with Female chars as well)
Virmine and Illos here I come ._. Im not even gonna bother training to lvl 60, since you just get some bonuses. 35+ is enough
Edit: Hm the rewards for 60 are nice, I might just get the DLC and train there (if thats even possible) and I maxed my Paragon out with the Unlimited +24 Paragon/Renagade Glitch at the bar in noveria.
The only thing I really wanted is that the combat would be better, and that the powers look ''cooler'' that's what im all about. Thats why I hated vanguard, cause throw looked so stupid, and I couldn't care less about weapons (although I love my shotgun/shotgun mastery for sentinel) Plus sentinel has the same weapons as Vanguard (With the mastery) and the same powers + more. So yea its better. And the story was already baddass
Every class now looks interesting as hell though =D The dash of VG is baddass, I love the new ammo types, so I might choose a vanguard now

Sentinels are amazing. Pretty much able to take to any situation. No need to play through ME1 if you just want a different class, though. You can change your class near the start of ME2.
I dearly hope they add more armour/weapons to the game with future DLC. I think that and the fact the game is extremely linear (the only exploration in around the galaxy in the Normandy) is the only thing that has stopped it from besting GTA IV on MC.

Yea I know you can change class at the beginning even though you were something else. But im already 80% and I wanna import my 40 or so char, for my decisions to Me2. and I didnt finish it 100% with my vang.
I hate choosing between Kaiden and Ashley though, since Kaiden is the shit, shes a biatz, but the one you have a relation with. But ill go with Miranda anyways.
And yea Im looking forward to what they have for the DLC, havn't checked the me1 ones yet

What I liked about ME2 over ME1 is the fact that you feel the need to actually use strategy in your battles. Enemies actually damage you. In ME1 I always just stood out in the wide open and shot everything down. In ME2 I had to take different types of cover and actually use things from my power wheel. And I actually used a different weapon besides the pistol this time.
What impresses me the most about this game however, is the wide variety of endings.
SPOILER ALERT:
I like how in the last mission you have all these different types of endings where either a few team members live, or all die, or all live. And then there's the matter of if Shepard lives or not, which is of course important.
END SPOILER
All in all the only thing I found disappointing is the fact that most of the game is getting team members and then gaining their loyalty, and then the last mission is the only one that actually matters. I'm just saying they could've done more besides just the last 3 mission clustered together in a row.

I liked the fact that it was just obtaining squad members then gaining their loyalty. It not only opened room for the squad mates to have great characters, and for that to be inserted without seeming forced, but the people Shepard got in his squad were the type of people he was stopping in the first.
There's still a fair amount of side-missions. Not as many as I'd have liked, but they're there.
But I'd say every recruitment mission and loyalty mission mattered just as much, if not more, than the last. SPOILER: Say if you didn't gain the loyalty of one of your team mates and they died in The Suicide Mission, it could come around and bite you in the ass in ME3.
I'm really dissapointed at how there is so much left unanswered from ME1, like the Rachni queen. Sure, it's all there for ME3, but I would have enjoyed ME3, but I waited long enough for ME2 hoping everything from the first would continue.

I've never played ME1 for more than an hour or two, so I bought a used copy for like 13 dollars at Gamestop and am playing it now. I'm gonna try to beat it finally.

So far its a cool game. Im all for the awesomness and fun of moves though, I couldn't care less about more Shields or anything. Im a sentinel now, but I wish ME2's sentinel was exactly like ME1's. Throw is good now, but he doesn't have lift, and no neutral shock.. \:
I rather want the burn tech instead of the ice one too > <. Im 7 hours in, and I might change to Vanguard but I want someone with throw and burn, and pull Dx
But good game so far (6 hours in) I do like ME1 more but we'll see what happens. I really dont like the small font, and the hud, and that you can't freaking see if one weapon is better then the other, I don't feel like reading the descriptions over and over. I liked the Number system before [and I miss being able to talk to your squad during a mission, even though they would say the same line over. You would feel that there not just puppets]
And in ME1 you had like 20x the abilities. But im feeling the characters, and story so far is good. Combat is better too. Edit: nah I think I like this one more o= lol

I really miss Lift. It was my favourite power in ME1. Neural Shock is now an unlockable move gained through getting the Loyalty of one of the characters. I won't say which. You can have any unlocked loyalty ability you want for 5000 Element Zero.
Insanity difficulty is actually difficult this time around.
