It came to me when my sister was going on about how she'd love loads of money.
And it got me thinking, can money actually buy you happyness? I thought that I had an answer but when I thought about it I realized that the reason why was stupid. So I really don't know.
CAN money buy you happiness?

Disney movies and the rest of the PC media likes to tell you it can't, but I'm sure that the reality is you'd probably be much happier rich than poor. Admit it. Just look at people over in Africa.

Lack of money can make you very sad. If you are good at thinking about how lucky you are to have all the nice things that you have then more money can make you happier, although not many people are. In general most people's happiness will be at a certain level if they have enough money and lower if they can't pay their debts or feed themselves. It's a binary system.

I think people take that quote too literally, they hear it and think "but if I buy ____ then I'll be happy".. yeah, it can do that, nobody is saying otherwise, but the whole message relates to an example of, say, a newlywed couple who just moved in to a small home to start a life together, but don't have much money. They're probably still very happy, and probably in ways that a lonely old man who surrounds himself with his wealth will never experience. But I'm sure he's happy in ways that couple might not experience either, it's just up to you what "kind" of happiness are more fulfilling.

Depends on what makes you happy, imo.

money can buy you happiness, but most often it won't
example: i bought my mp3 player and every day it brings me happiness
example: i spent some money on drugs, and they made me happy for a while, but it didn't last long
example: i have spent over 293472938472 dollars on energy drinks and all it has brought me is suffering

I think first we need to all agree and decide on what happiness is.
If it's to be considered something that everyone must find for themselves, I must say no money can't by me happiness.

I'd call happiness: "a feeling that nothing in the world could possibly better than what you are enjoying now"
whether or not this feeling lasts depends on the situation

happiness: the feeling of being happy.
