What does the d/dx notation for derivatives actually represent? What does the d mean?
Feb 10, 2012 7:55 AM #591319
I believe it stands for differential or something.

It took awhile for Zed to convince me that Stickpage was actually a forum that revolved around the moon landing conspiracy, however once he did, he appointed me Chief of the delta squadron black ops ninja assassin commando moon task force.

Just a question, do RHG demos have to be in Flash, or above a certain skill level?
Feb 11, 2012 3:41 PM #592303
I think they would have to be in flash because it seems to be a flash thing. There aren't many non-flash RHGs so it would be very difficult to compete. I don't think there's a minimum skill level.
But you have brought up an interesting point. I should add an RHG section, now that we do it.

Yeah but what does that mean? Why does d/dx(x^4)=4x^3?
Feb 12, 2012 12:29 PM #592712
It's used to work out the gradient of the line for which that is the equation. The difference in y divided by the difference in x is the gradient.
