View Profile A child wouldn't think of it's reward, but what he would want to do. Many children say they want to fly planes or be a firefighter. Then let them be, as long as they're happy. Just teaching to be what they want isn't really brainwashing.
Of course a child isn't going to think of the reward, they will think it looks fun and cool. Once they turn into adults they aren't going to think that busting into burning and collapsing buildings regularly is fun or cool.

Always one step ahead.

There are people that think it's fun/cool or just think the job needs to be done.
Same goes for all kinds of other things.
And there are of course drop-outs and people that would not qualify for certain things, trying to abuse this system that would as punishment be placed at the lower jobs, like working at a fast food restaurant or on a farm or something.
Hope you get my point.

View Profile Sure, I know kids who want to be a doctor when they're young.
The problem is that when you're young, you're not entirely sure what you want to be. I can probably speak for most of us here saying that I've changed my mind on what I wanted to be, so many times as I've grown up.

View Profile Of course society is ****ed up but you just gotta make the best out of it. Maybe in universe 2 things might be a bit better but we'll just need to wait it out.

View Profile They're not making a big deal of it. That's their point. I'm not saying I agree necessarily.
