Ok, so i figured i would figure out how to use as2 to make really cool effects. So here's the first, with a few adjustable sliders for ya.

That's was good, or at least with the actionscript experience I have, I think it's good.
However, when particle size is on the lowest, the particles are barely visible, maybe you could make the particles red or the particles the opposite color of blue, which would be red.. which also immediately creates a hot/cold contrast.
Anyways, good job!

That was incredibly cool. Love it. How did you make the ball move around randomly like that, or did you actually plot out a long path?

The ball wasn't too hard. I basically had it get a random set of coordinates and adjust its movement to go towards it. When it got to the point, it found a new set of coordinates.

The opposite color of blue is orange.
