The world would be much better off without religion.

What the world needs is better moral values over all, and religion isn't needed to instill moral values.

You don't even need religion to learn about God, because God is bigger than religion. He visits people in many ways, whether they're religious or not.

In my personal opinion, Religion has lost it's spiritual touch for quite a while. Christians been reduced to theorists and preachers instead of teachers of the divine. I have yet to see any research or study of a Christian person who is able to master superhuman feats. Yet I'm always amazed at the non religious folk, buddhists or gurus who can...there are people out there who can live without food, have ESP, and can astral project. Religion doesn't even sit you down long enough to teach you any of this, let alone teach you the value self discovery.

a little long-winded, but yea, i disagree.

You have a point, people view religion as some sort of mind virus. But really religion and God are very different.
And I fudging swear if someone asks "Why is that" in some sarcastic mytha luving way ima go ballistic.

I think the world is ok with religion. The problem that I see with religion are those who are radical about it or ignorant with those who don't follow their religion. I believe in the policy of "live and let live".

@Mikematic: thanks bro. Religion and God are very different.

@McRhook: "Live and let live" is the best policy to live by. Its the basic principle of what every Major religious figure has fought for...Oddly enough every major religious figure came to us in order to break us free from Radical and Dogmatic religious views in the first place...Jesus was tortured for it...

Lol, well. There are near death experiences, beings who appear to individuals via dream or in person, Religious services, signs, symbols, animals, bushes, Meditation, and spontaneous enlightenment...i'm sure there are a ton of other ways.

No there aren't. No one has ever been proven to have any of those abilities, and the first one is literally impossible.

I have no idea what you mean by things like "animals" or "bushes", and meditation has nothing to do with religion or god. None of those examples do, really.

Maybe he means stuff like the burning bush in the Bible. That's the first thing that came to mind for me.

I must say the only good thing i see in religion is that some people need it, some people need that support if there having a bad time in life.

It makes sense that some people may feel like they need religion. One theory suggests that the temporal lobes evolved to be able to have numinous "religious experience" after the frontal lobes evolved. The frontal lobes are what let us predict outcomes in order to survive, but a side-effect of that was that we could also predict the inevitability of our own deaths. This is what lead to the temporal lobes being as such.

@Exilement: I assumed u were asking me a question regarding this statement: "He visits people in many ways, whether they're religious or not." ,my answer was regarding that. Bushes refers to the infamous burning bush Moses spoke to. Plus many religions practice meditation, and most near death experiences happen to religious folk...they see angels and stuff sometimes during it too. But meditation isn't a "religious tool" per-say. God is a spiritual entity, Spirituality is crucial to experience god fully...you don't have to be religious to be spiritual.

I don't think you understand. It is literally impossible to live without food for long periods of time, because the laws of physics would be broken if you could. You do know why we eat certain things, don't you?
