Well there is the possibly of using the other universe's power in the future if we can build something to open a worm hole maybe (or some sort of portal) to get into another universe and take the resources we want to power anything we have in the future. does this sound far fetched? yes, but so does having machines that connects the whole world (computers /w internet) and to have a computer in your hand at all times (smart phones). To say that 200 years ago would have sounded like it was a myth. so we dont know how far we can get with our technology and there is alot we dont understand about how the universe works.
This is very true. Just because it doesn't seem likely doesn't mean it is impossible. Mankind is always pushing back the barrier of what is possible, so why jump to the conclusion that there is only one universe, or if there is more, that we can't reach the others? Personally, I believe that there is too much space out there for only one universe to exist, just as there's too much space for one planet with life to exist. Not only that, but there is a way to the others as well. It may not be a short 8 hour flight, but there's a way.
However, I'm not going to touch on the whole "tapping into another universe's energy" deal, because I have no solid thoughts about it (metaphorically speaking), and I don't want t end up sounding like more of an idiot than I already do. :)
