Ahhhhhh, mod powers. It feels so good, I'm gonna give you a full cc. Yeah, I'm a pivoteer, and the animated examples I'm about to give you reflect that, but you'll notice I don't comment on your effects. Effects are a flasher's home turf, but damned if I can't teach you a thing or two about basic stick movement.
So, on the first landing of the red guy I'd say you want to make it bouncier. You don't necessarily have to add a second jump, although that would look nice too, but you generally want more easing and a kind of circular motion with the hips to keep the flow going properly. Like this (slow motion):
Here's a
spectacular tutorial on keeping animations flowing which I can't recommend enough ;)
In fact, I can say the same for all of your landings.
Also, make sure you ease all the arm movements. At this point I'm specifically looking at when the grey stick points his sword at the red stick. You want something like this:
Actually that's not great, but you know what easing is. Do it more.
Next, when you animate a run try not to just kick the heels up and then put them straight down again. You need to bring the foot forwards when the knee is still bent. For reference, here's a run I made back when I was good:
Aaaaaand ... actually that's it. That's all I can comment on with regard to the movements.
You have a hell of a lot of potential, Jack. I'm going to come back into this "flash" section in six months and I expect to see you making castles explode and shiz.
PS. I'm drunk as a Scotsman. If any of this makes no sense, PM me around 2pm on Sunday and I'll see if I can translate. On a related note, if these examples are good then I think I deserve some kind of award.
