Guys I've been thinking (partly through my experience so far with Dojo), are the off-topic sections necessary? Like, I was just browsing the Dojo general chat and I noticed that it's a shit-ton more active than SP's, so I started comparing the two casually and realized that a lot of the topics in Dojo's general section would go under off-topic waaaay at the bottom of the forum on SP.

Seems to me like the off-topic is a little redundant, as it's essentially divided what should GENERAL topics and sent them to the bottom of the forum, leaving the general forum devoid of any meaningful content aside from a handful of stickied topics and a bunch of forum games.

If we lose Off-Topic, does this mean I'll no longer be a mod?

Nono, is not going to be deleted, we will just include the videogames, movies and tv stuff threads on the general discussion section, you'll be a mod there... actually you're already a mod there right?

I think I'm going to take most of you off as IRC ops and ask some other members who are more capable to take over that jobs. You'd think it would be obvious not to do some of the things you guys have been doing, but apparently not. Specifically, the last few days I've seen a lot of opping non-mods in the channel. This is not acceptable. At all.

Once I figure out who I'm going to ask I'm gonna go ahead with it, unless you guys can give me a good reason not to. It makes me seriously question your capabilities as forum mod when I see this behavior.

EDIT: I'm just double checking to see who exactly has been doing this, wiping everyone would be an over reaction, but I'm not happy to see what I've been seeing.

I'll admit I've done it once in awhile (mostly it was giving voice to a set number of members) since I get caught up in these sorts of things I've always assumed were harmless jokes. I apologize on my behalf and promise to be more mature about Ops. If you remove my Op I'll be fine with it, I've done the occasional immature thing and I own up to it. If I get to keep my ops I promise not to abuse them in the future.

I only did it once but I got tricked into doing it because I didn't know what an OP was at the time -_- Luckily Tsang was there to reverse the situation at the time.

I've never had much luck with IRC, so I'm not an OP there. And I currently mod Off Topic and General Discussion only.

I apologize for some recent activity I've taken part in over the course of my status of being an IRC operator. I realize that opping non-moderators is wrong, despite it being done as a joke on most cases, and I state that I'll keep away from emitting somewhat irresponsible behavior again if I ever am given my operator status back.

I don't mind my ops being stripped from me, but if they are ever given back, I will handle them correctly instead of mindlessly deciding to take part in jokes involving possible abuse of the powers I have been stripped from.

Thanks. :)

I only like being a channel op because it makes me feel special, rest assured I wouldn't dare soil such a precious title by recklessly bestowing it upon some filthy commoner. good heavens, no.

I only play with voices. That actually does absolutely nothing I just play with everyone a little bit, but never op someone.
