Agreed. If they can't stop being immature and just have the decency to just ignore you and let you do what you do, then they can't be here. They can go somewhere else.

This really isn't fair to you, seriously. I wish they'd just leave you alone.

Tsang was demodded for inactivity... I even sent him a PM letting him know that specifically. Here's the exact PM I sent him:

Hey, just wanted to let you know that I've removed you as a mod and op due to general inactivity. This isn't a bad thing, I understand that priorities change. We're looking at doing another huge overhaul of the mod team anyway, so we really want to swap out more inactive mods for active ones. Thanks for all your hard work being mod, we really appreciate the help around here. I've gone ahead and set you to the ex-mod group.

There was nothing bad about it, I've been thinking of demodding him for inactivity for literally almost a year so it shouldn't be a surprise. He was warned a few times if I recall. If he doesn't like it, he has no one to blame but himself. This dumb harassment bullshit is really getting out of hand.

EDIT: I talked to Tsang, please don't be mad at him for this reason. He hasn't been spreading any false information as far as I know. Here's what he said:

yeah i told everyone who wondered that it was just due to inactivity
and that it had nothing to do with anything else

You guys can do what you want about it I just, don't want to deal with those kids anymore. If you need more proofs about Pox's douchebagery, I'm glad to inform you that he also got in a channel of IRC where me and my friends hang out, apparently looking for me... but since I wasn't there he took the chance to insult my other friends.

Hey guys, following Hewitt's suggestion, I'd like to make a FAQ thread for the SE Section, to well, deter redundant thread like what he reported. I'm thiking of posting something like this first:

-----

I've a question I'd like to ask for all of you; would you guys like a Q&A thread? It'd be a thread that you can refer to if you have a question regarding SE, like:

Can I have free chaos/elemental?
Does the armory affect gameplay?
Can I mod the SE Global Chat?

And stuff like that, which is often (?) asked around here. It's to avoid redundancy.

----

To gather opinions. I'm aware that the SE Section already has a similar thread but it's somewhat outdated. Should I just update the thread instead or make a new FAQ thread?

It'd probably be better to just update and revamp the current similar thread, cutting out a hefty deal of work as well as providing a good deal of information already that you may accidentally skip/wouldn't think of.

I have finals two weeks later, so I can't confirm how active I'll be between then. Just throwing that out there.

As some of you know, round 10 of BSE ended on October 19th. I thought that letting Tsang finish up the scores and the whole event was a good idea, but after 3 weeks I just couldn't watch it die like that anymore, so I got 2 judges yesterday and the third one would be myself once again.

And so I found this funny entry by MarkXD http://markxd.deviantart.com/art/BSE-v5-round-10-489587384

More than a combo, it just looks like a straight attempt to get me on my nerves....

I don't think it was made directly to annoy you, Cami. More like he got rushed, so just made something simple and wanted to appeal to the crowd. At least it's a lot less hateful than what Pox has been up to.

I don't think that was very appropriate, personally. It's pretty blatantly obvious why he did it and the message he was trying to put across. Mark XD has a history of being a bit of a scumbag so I don't have a problem banning him from participating in the next BSE over this.

Okay so I just want to touch base on this whole harassment issue and discuss our public image as staff here. I'm not being specific when I talk about anything here, nor am I blaming anyone or pointing fingers, I just want to bring this up and make sure everyone's on the same page since it's fairly important we all understand especially recently with a growing group of members choosing to act inappropriately instead of civilly.

As mods it's important that we all maintain a respectable and friendly appearance when representing SP. We want to be approachable and have our members be happy with how things are run, instead of fearful and frustrated that they have no recourse. There used to be a time where being a mod meant you were expected to be tough, possibly elitist and condescending, but I think that kind of attitude is reminiscent of an era of the internet that was primarily inhabited by angsty teen nerds. More and more it's becoming apparent to me that having that sort of moderation today just results in anti-authority behavior.

We are all humans too, and it's easy to become frustrated and let our emotions get the better of us when dealing with certain things. Not every person is capable of being reasonable, some people are just dicks. I'm also not pretending to be a saint when it comes to this, I'm also prone to letting my frustration dominate my decisions and it's lead to some actions that I sincerely regret now. That is why I'm trying hard today to be as impartial and as fair as I can without being ridiculously strict but also not being a doormat. It's hard to find a middle ground and we're not always going to be right on the money, but I really appreciate it when we at least try. Again, not saying anyone here isn't trying.

This all sounds a bit silly when you consider this is just an internet forum, but now that Stone and I are both employed to work here SP is becoming a different beast in my eyes as we have the opportunity to take it up to another level. If we want to do this and reach a wider audience we need to maintain solid official policies and we need to all be on the same page. All I'm asking right now is that we try to be fair, and if someone really disagrees with a decision you've made then bring it up here for discussion, or remind the other person that they can talk to an admin if they aren't happy. Try to be understanding, it's not a bad thing if you reverse your decision. No one is going to think lesser of you. At the same time, if your decision is reasonable and someone refuses to accept it, you can also reach out to others for help. Most importantly, throughout all of this try your best not to be rude or condescending. If you cannot get somewhere with a user, you can end the conversation or even just calmly state, "I will discuss this matter with an admin and get back to you" or "I understand you're frustrated, how about we get in touch with an admin to resolve the matter". I will gladly accept any unruly members.

My thoughts feel kind of jumbled here, so I hope I'm being concise. Basically just keep on being friendly and approachable, and if someone isn't happy you should be open to discussion as long as they're civil about it. Just try not to fuel the fire by being rude back to them. That's all. I'm about to make a big post about the recent state of things here so hopefully we can come together again as a community.

I've always tried to be 100% fair with everyone. When it comes to be friendly and patient (specially with newcommers) I think I've done it pretty well, and I'd love to see the general image of the staff improove.

I've been acting fair, if a bit strict, in my opinion, and when issues are brought up in which I'm directly responsible, I take responsibility for it and act as professional as possible. Whenever there is an issue I don't think I can act professional in, I bring it up for others to look into. The recent issue with Jutsu was discussed at length, as well as the torrent situation. I do feel strongly about the recent harassment towards Cami, honestly, because it's being done quite unfairly and without reason, especially since she's kept a professional and friendly attitude despite everything.

Again I'm not blaming anyone or saying anyone is guilty here, you're all pretty fair and reasonable imo. Just wanted to post this to make sure, and also in case we're criticized publicly I have this to show people that we're definitely talking about it. I'm not just talking out my ass.
