View Profile Not permanent infractions either. Just normal ones, I don't really see a problem with the kid.
He's not a kid, Cami, he's a grown man. And I won't hold true to the permanent infractions, but I'm not removing the warning. It doesn't affect him, and it may at least help to somewhat curb his posting. Also, after another long string of PMs, we've come to another (kind of) agreement (I suppose).

View Profile Just for transparency I'm going to add a new rule about image file size for signatures and posts. We don't have a rule about this for images currently, for SWF files we have a rule about 2 MB being the max in signatures, though I doubt anyone really checks. The reason I'm adding this rule is recently I found one member to have had a 16+ MB GIF as their signature which was causing problems with page load time and performance while the image was loading, especially on mobile. Here's a screenshot from the profiler I used to determine what the problem was:
It took nearly 30 seconds to load the image from a fresh cache. I think it should go without saying that even though we don't have a specific rule for these things, something that affects the website or the use experience in a negative way will have to be removed. I think most people will be reasonable about it, but I'm going to put it in the rules just in case.

View Profile Sounds like a plan to me, though, who had a sig that big, anyways?

View Profile Hm, I thought the rule about 2MB swfs already applied to .gifs.

View Profile I wouldn't say 100% that was officially the case, I think it would be easy for someone to be confused if they were infracted for having a 3 MB gif in a post when the rule is for signatures and specifically says SWF. This rule is not just for signatures but for anything posted on the site. I made a post in the chat thread clarifying the rule a bit if anyone is interested. I don't really expect anyone to need to use the rule, but if you feel you do PLEASE gather evidence and send it to the person immediately after you take action. I also wouldn't infract for this rule, just remove the content and send them the PM. If someone is a repeat offender then we can send a warning about it so we can keep track, but I seriously doubt this will be a problem. Again, just covering our bases.

View Profile Well, in the case of us Sectionals, we can only deal with posts, and that's in our sections. If we see any signatures that're too large, should we just kindly ask the user to remove it or Spoiler it?

View Profile I would report the signature here with any evidence you have that it's a problem, I'll verify it and take action.

I don't want to seem like I'm picking on azure but are we still doing stuff like this? This seems to go against what we were trying to accomplish when we closed the chat thread for two weeks, I don't want to start this precedent again where we're expected to post in the chat thread any time we want to talk about anything casual.

View Profile Yeah please don't bin threads because they "might" be better under the chat thread. Let the topics play out and let the users decide.

View Profile Just a head's up. I'm currently receiving the blunt end of my bad decision making lately. I'll not be able to be as active as I was. I don't know how long this will persist, so yeah.

You don't have to, but care to explain what's going on?

View Profile btw, I'm in finals week so that's why my activity plummeted.
I didn't mention it earlier cause I didn't think it was this bad, but I should be more active by thursday or Friday.
