Out of curiosity, are we going to ignore BBKing5 trying to plagiarize somebody else's art? I mean, that's kind of illegal, and he got called out on it with proof.

I haven't seen any info on it, mind filling me in?

Here is his alleged post. The posts onwards are questioning, accusing, and proving that the image he posted was not made by him. Further along, he claims again that he made the picture, but does not create any proof that he can do such. It's clear plagiarism, and there may also be some minor harrassment/flaming from others who were bothered by it.

Hey I just wanted to say that if someone complains about their post being moderated, you should approve the post for them provided it's not breaking any rules. The link limit is pretty much just to stop bots' posts from being public.
Mar 16, 2015 4:26 PM #1326684
How do I approve a post/thread?
Mar 16, 2015 4:30 PM #1326686
The easiest way is to visit the mod controlpanel (there's a link at the bottom of each page), and using the links in the menu to view moderated threads/posts/etc.
this way there's a big list of them there for you and you can easily approve/deny multiple ones. If you spot a bot post use SOM to remove it.

Can you guys remind me of the current policy on Clan accounts since our rules don't seem to have any information reflecting it. I know I said that clan accounts were alright as long as they aren't abused but I can't remember if we had agreed on restrictions for them. I'm going to revisit this policy since I see some instances where the clan account is used for more than just managing a clan thread, which I am not comfortable with.

Hey Jeff, where's the link at the bottom of the page? I'm not seeing any. I go to the control panel because I saved the link the last time it got posted.

it's a global mod thing

I can't remember if we actually agreed on something about clan accounts but I'm completly against it since it's just unnecessary/pointless. I don't really see why would you do that in the first place.

Just as a third party observer, I think that Clan accounts are fine, but mods are reserved the right to infract them if they post in any area outside of their jurisdiction within reason.

I was just thinking that clan accounts should only be allowed to post in one thread, but the biggest problem I have with them is a problem that has happened before, which is that a member of the clan gets banned for any length of time, all they do is hop on the clan account and continue posting as normal. More recently I see people using clan accounts to converse with other clans, which I'm not okay with in the sense that the account is allowed specifically to allow multiple people to update the thread, not to have conversations. It's a utility account and nothing more.
Mar 17, 2015 5:16 PM #1327238
Using it to evade a ban should obviously be against the rules and grounds for terminating the clan account, but is there some harm done by using it to talk between clans that I'm not seeing? that sounds fairly harmless even if it's not the intended purpose of the account.
Mar 17, 2015 5:21 PM #1327241
I think if we're to allow clan accounts, we should at least put a limit to how many users can access it. Why would all the members need to update it? At most, the leader and the secondary leader would need access, and if either or both of them get banned, the clan can just disband.
As for chatting with other clans, I can see how that'd be tricky, and I'd say we could warn against it before any other actions since we don't have any real rules in place for it. We could discuss some rules and post them in the Clan section though, if this gets any more popular.

I think the problem I have most with it is that it becomes a bit of a problem for the mods of that section to manage. Well, actually I can't speak on their behalf but while investigating it I felt slightly annoyed that I couldn't reliably tell who was posting under the account. I worry that if the clan account does or says something against the rules and risks suspension that we wont be able to tell who the perpetrator was, and the clan will hide behind that to avoid punishment. Kind of like a Spartacus situation.
