Pardon me friends, the following message is an address to my fellow members of Limbo, and a request for Swammy.
I urge all members of LoD clans to read this as well.

There is a high amount of inactivity within our clan. Not just in the fact that some people aren't active that often or in IRC much, but in clan participation and output of creativity in either images or animation. I am not trying to single anyone out because I am also included in this. I haven't released an animations with any amount of good length behind them since I animated my tryout a few months ago. That's not very good. My idea is to make clan activity a requirement to remain within the clan.

Here are a few ideas.
Rotate from Monthly animations which should be about 25+ seconds in length excluding introductions, credits, etc to weekly months where each week out of the month there is a weekly assignment to complete at a requirement of at least 7-10 seconds of non cinema animation and each participant must complete at least 3 of these per month. Whenever a weekly month is upon us, Swammy could post which animation task must be completed for each week. That way we know ahead of time and if we have the time we can finish each weekly animation in less than one month (finishing work up early). I can do a ten second animation in just an hour or two. So this still allows time for outside projects and RHG fights and what not.

Another issue I would like to discuss which relates to the clan artwork and animations we work on. Quality is just as important if not more important than quantity. Don't rush your animations or artwork. I really dislike reading comments such as "oh I was lazy" or "I rushed the end". Honestly whenever someone posts a comment like that in their animation threads I'm more than likely not going to post at all because if I don't think the person spent their time and effort on the animation, why should I waste mine telling them how to improve? This leads me to my next point. Criticism. If you post an animation and someone criticizes it in any way, do not for the love of fucking God get offended and make excuses. Accept the criticism and look at the larger image. If someone calls a running cycle in your animation poor and choppy don't think it's just for that run cycle. Next time you animate a run cycle regurgitate that criticism and keep it in mind as you animate. The reason I bring this up is because since we are in a clan I want to know that we can all get along with one another just fine. I'm confident that all of us in Limbo are used to one another and accepting of each others criticisms. Which is good, I'm happy for that. This is mainly addressed to the rest of LoD seeing as how I ran into a conflict with MicVeir when this happened early on IRC. So for the rest of you all in LoD clans, I'm sure everyone in Limbo will stand up for me when I say that when I criticize your work I am more than willing to elaborately explain why and go completely out of my way to help you all get better.

a few things though.
I'm not gonna change mothlies to weeklies, instead, I'm going to remove it completely. We are all individuals, with different things going on. So there will be no animation tasks set. What I want to see is members submitting animations on their own, why should you have to be instructed to do so :/ you guys aint dumb, you know why we are here so its down to you to prove you can animate. I'll just assume you have no skill from this point on until i see anims.

I'll use myself as an example. If I can do it why can't everyone else right? :/
I make animations regularly. Art too.
Since joining SP its possible that i have made the most in my clan.
I admit I rush alot of work but that's not to say my work looks rushed. I spend enough time on them that my skill level requires. I still have time to make art...

We have had the chance to get some awesome animators on board *cough* Geo *cough* but the clans full n i refused to kick anyone else.
However, now if I think your slacking I'll get get a second opinion from the rest of the clan n if they agree you will be kicked ._. problem?


Animate or Go may become a new rule or moral here. We will see if anything changes after this.

Fuck art idc, this is an animation clan not drawing clan.
Don't draw 100 pics n make 1 animation n expect it to be enough to give you a reason to say your busy.
Submit animations regularly or leave. There are animators that would like to join us that put effort in.
This does not mean animate shit loads of crap. The best feeling as a leader is to know your clans working on stuff.

In fact ima name names and what I think needs to change, if anything...

Poppet - IMO the perfect member, he is active, spends time working hard on his anims, always involved in battles. I don't expect Poppet to do weeklies, 99% of the time is working on something, keeping his skills from rusting. oh n he also makes art regularly.

Arch-Angel - Animate something. Last thing i saw was your tryout which was also a demo.(and not very good as i'm sure you will agree) You said at the time you were rusty when you posted your tryout, i expect that rust to be gone by now, you have been here for a while now. You make these pro backgrounds but I feel you lack inspiration to finish anims, hope you get some inspiration soon.
I made Akujin about three days ago and have 2 slightly action packed demo's. If I can do it you can do it better. Jus sayin, I aint as pro...

Lycan - As irritating as you can be your actually a very very very good clan member. Loyal and constantly animating. Again, less likely to gain rust, only improve. Sort out your attitude and maturity though, falls apart sometimes lol ooh n he also makes art regularly.

Mr.Kickman - He is new still, from what i know about him his effort and work rate reminds me Poppet. Always working on something, still too early to evaluate ;3

Drone - Awesome artist, but i feel you have become so busy with requests from the community you have forgotten to animate more, i havnt seen any work for a while and I dont know if your working on anything other than pics atm. I suggest a break from the requests. Find a balance.

MicVei4 - not in my clan but this is my bro so i feel its only right i share my opinion. Perhaps unknown to Archy but I know Veir is working on 2? 2 projects i think, i've seen screens n the work looks really good, your a skilled animator for sure. I understand Arch's argument that your demos are deceiving, you make them so shit pro animators or animators at your level wont challenge you, nubs will.

Arch you should still unlock it, your argument is right, n Veir should make a new demo, but it doesn't deserve to be locked that's unfair. If you was around in FA you would know that his thread follows the format well, I suggest locking a few noob threads that straight violate the rhg format rules, yet they sit there collecting dust or getting trolled.

TAKING CNC
I love c'n'c
It has made me the artist i am today.
Some say I improve fast, my secret is cnc.
If you dont believe me, when you have some free time read every comment on every animation i have made since i started last year august.

Like Arch said, if your told your run cycle sucks, no matter whether they say ''hey bro you could fix certain things in this run cycle, maybe try ....'' or they say ''Holy Shit Bro! Wtf was that? your run cycle sucks ass! xD'' they are both cnc, one from a mature person one from a troll, either way you as an animator should read this as ''error made, how do i fix this?''

How cnc is given does not matter, its how you take the cnc that will make the difference between rage and unnatural improvement.


Summery -

*No more clan weeklies or monthlys, instead work at you own pace, provide evidence at least that your working on something. A sceenie or two of current projects.
*LoD assignments will continue.
*If for any reason I feel your slacking you will get a warning, then get kicked if i feel nothing has changed.
*Take n give cnc like you got balls, no crying or trolling. A team is only as strong as its weakest member.
*Poppet, keep doin wat u doin
*Arch, animate more.
*Lycan, tone it down a lil
*Mr.Kickman, hai
*Drone, less drawing, i wanna see some of them art skills in anims now.

Animate or go rule will be start over the next few days. This does not mean ima start kicking people. Just means I'm watching now. Post screenies if your working on a project or post them test animations, so long as I can be reassured of your skill level.

my RHG battle is due at the end of the month and yet another is due on may tenth, so ive been basically working on two projects simultaniously
reason being that if i don't animate more than one thing at a time, ill get bored with one and never finish it
this way, i can get bored with one, go on to the other, then repeat the cycle.
so, although it may look like im not animating and all i do is art, im actually animating quite frequently :P
oh, and look forward to those rhg battles :D

I couldn't agree more Swammy.
It feels pretty shitting knowing that you make like four animations a week and I made one in ninety days lol. To be fair, I had some really good shorts like Sword Vs Shield and my old monthly on my other computer before it got raped :/ That's depressing but oh well. I'll make something tonight after work.

As far as unlocking Zalgo, that's not going to happen for a lot of reasons.
As for the injustice of other RHG threads not being locked, it helps out a lot if you use the report button.
