I downloaded Xchat and it was only free for 1 month, and then it stopped working, so he might mean Xchat 2, which is the free version. Which was moved to Hexchat because Xchat 2 or in other words, Ychat, was abandoned. You ca get Xchat though. I recommend it over Hexchat tbh. Just too lazy to replace it.

What does it matter if it was abandoned? It still exists and it still works fine, I'm not seeing the issue?

Yeah, but if it ever messes up, it won't be fixed.
But yeah I'm cool with Xchat. Just too lazy to download it instead of Hexchat because I didn't know you could still download it. When I went on the site, I thought they didn't let you download Hexchat and only linked Xchat. It was too late for me to change. I'm lazy.
