The racing scenes look great, and it seems to have fairly good actors in it.
I'm a little worried about how good the non-racing parts are going to be, but I'll watch it anyway.

I'm skeptical.

The futuristic look they were going for just screams homosexual. The cars seemingly can spin out and drift as if the tires were ice or something.

I do think that the car models look slick and superb. They'll make for some great 3d scenes.

We'll see.

Looks really exciting and hyped up, but seriously, the futuristic stuff makes it look..gay, almost. Brilliant colors and such scare me.

A little off the Witchowski Brothers theme... the bright colors and all just fail to make me feel like a testosterone filled explosion of bullets and kung fu. I am completely aware that it's a show that my father used to watch when he was a kid, but that just makes me want to NOT watch it. But I'm looking forward to eating my words if I do.

I heard the old Speed Racer series was kickass, plus I played the Speed Racer game. The fact it's by the same people who made Matrix Trilogy makes me want to watch ir, but also because it looks cool.

And yes, I suck. I haven't seen the trailer yet.

Well, if you know the original Speed Racer, the cars can do all sorts of bizarre things like pivot their wheels 180 degrees and launch robotic pigeons with cameras attatched, so it makes sense that they'll have some wacky racing.

I don't know what to make of it.
It's going to be made by the guys who brought us the Matrix, and I'm doubting their ability to make the transition.
I half expect to see cars doing slow-mo kung-fu and jumping from roof to roof.

I hate that they've made it look all futuristic. I'm a fan of the orignal cartoon Speed Racer and I would not picture it with rainbow colors and fast cars made in year 2100 or somethin. I mean, it looks like ****ing Spy Kids. I'm not wastin my money on that movie.

It's a disgrace to the original Speed Racer.

Stop making me feel old, Speed Racer was my favorite when I was little. Second only to Johnny Quest.

I was surprised to hear that it would be made by the matrix guys, I don't see how a kids show could be turned into a movie by those guys, done well, and true to the show,I expect fail.

I agree, I expect to be full of fail. I won't go watch it in theaters unless someone handed me a free ticket and then I probably wouldn't want to waste gas money to see it. But who knows, it might come out really well. I'll wait for reviews and for it to air on TV...

Well the show was first out in the sixties, but there were a lot of reruns and stuff in the nineties
so it's possible both you and his dad both saw it as a kid

It's all colorful... :D But that makes it look kind of... cheesy... Like they were trying too hard. I don't know. I just don't think it looks that good, yet a lot of people I know are really excited about it and stuff.

Johnny Quest bored me... I'd watch Red Skelton before that. Speed Racer was almost as bad. It just got so bla-ze after a while.

Not all the shows were like that, but there were wuite a few that crossed the border of Redundancy and headed straight to MundaneLand
