Why can't I join groups or send visitor messages? I know exactly how to do it but it won't let me do it. Can someone tell me why?

I'm on the Permission Group "Portal Users" but still.

Oh, and I can't customize my profile.

Your usergroup is down as Users Awaiting Email Confirmation. Portal Users is a secondary group which won't give any extra permissions at this time.

Check for your confirmation email again.
