lol whatever thats just your opinion dude, i dont know why your attacking me. There's plenty of other scientists who believe the world will end in 2012 so they know more knowledge about it then you obviosuly. Plus millions of people around the world believe it's gonna happen and they even made a movie about it so...

There's also a movie about a giant lizard attacking Manhatten. When is that one supposed to happen?

Ah, you saw my post. No point in deleting it and PMing you instead.
I'm pretty sure you're purposely being that silly, though. "Debating" that badly is pretty rare to see otherwise, and Im sure you're trolling. I might be wrong, but I like to try and have a high standard of the average person's intelligence.

I didnt know people had standards on SPP.

yeah about that.... there is something called money. Yeah you use it to buy stuff with. You can get it in many ways like making a movie and having people watching >.>

one day man, the world will end. all trees will be like soft wool, just softly flying down and all mountains will be like people, spitting red tea out of their mouths...

I don't think so cause it's been said twice at two different dates, but it still never happened. I'v donated money for someone to build a rocket and fly into the black hole and make it close so the earth doesn't get sucked in. I think it is a big lie and they are just trying to get money.

Maybe, it actully will happen. Well, you never know

A rocket? The nearest black hole is millions of light years a way you knob.

dude you don't know for sure nobody does. Theere's scientific evidence to prove you wrong so look it up before making that claim. i know that ancient Mayans predicated it, how could they know about the end of the world? But they did, so it's a possiblilty; I'm not saying I think its going to happen but you never know. Don't be so sure is all im saying ;)

I'm mind blown by the stupidity in this post.

Firstly; The Mayans did not predict shit. It's just a more advance calender then the one siting in you're filthy kitchen.
Image

secondly; What scientific proof? Coronal mass ejections Can't destroy all life (human) on earth. the nearest GRB is at the wrong angle to hit earth. We have not detected any meteors that pose a danger to earth. There is virtually nothing that can 'end' the world within the next billion years.

dude just do some research geez, all you have to do is type it in google: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_phenomenon
your prediction has no evidence to support it, mine does.

I'm just not even going to say it. Once again you're stupidity has blown my mind.
ITS FUCKIN WIKIPEDEA! THE SHIT THAT ANYONE CAN EDIT! Use a better source..., idiots these days.

Just so you all know, the mayan calendar does not take into account leap years. In other words, the world should've ended a long time ago.

Well, except for humans.

we'd kill all life on it, but it's a stretch to say that we'd "end" the world.

I think it would be doable. I mean we'd have to actually try, but if we're talking about what could be done no problem.

Well actually a nuclear war could pretty much end the world...

We could end all life on Earth, but there's no way we could actually destroy the earth. This planet withstood meteor strikes that make nukes look like ant farts.

If we hit the same place again and again we might be able to change the planet's orbit and push it into the sun. That's how I would provisionally plan to do it.

Edit: Ok, some very rough calculations conclude that it would take about two billion billion large nukes and a parabolic reflector made of a metric shit-tonne of lead to noticeably affect the Earth's orbit. Lead is £650 a tonne, so a metric shit-tonne would probably be a couple of billion. Nuclear bombs are, apparently, about a million dollars each, or £1.565m at current exchange rates. Total cost of blasting the earth into the sun: approx. £3.13 x 10^24. That's five trillion times global GDP. So not only could we do it, but we could massively stimulate the economy while we're at it!

Edit2: Shit, I went the wrong way with my exchange rates. The cost is actually just less than half that.

as far as the planet being destroyed completely? no, not until the sun cools and expands, engulfing most of the solor system. as far as complete life extinction? no, not completely. There will always be some form of life that can withstand the most horrific of disasters, even if it's just bacteria at the bottom of the ocean. as far as human extinction? it's not going to happen unless we make it happen ourselves.

hahaha what? the solar system is huge, dude, it might engulf mercury and venus but the rest would most likely be pushed away from expanding gravitational forces, and probably wouldn't get large enough to reach earth where it is now.

hehe maybe so, but the expansion of the sun would definitely render the Earth into a smoldering, lifeless rock none the less.
