Before the new mods jump all over this, I know there's an original music section and this type of thread is exactly what the subforum exists for. If you could do me a favor and let it slide just this once, I'd appreciate it. I'm posting here specifically because I need feedback on this track, and I'm not going to get it in a section that averages one post every 1-2 months.

Anyway, this is a WIP on a new track I'm working on. I've actually gotten some good responses from a few respectable labels, so I know I'm close to getting my name out there in the trance scene, but I'm still trying to refine my style before I send over any more demos.

All I need is some feedback on the track before I finish it, since I think this is the best track I've ever written so far. I want a general idea of what I'm doing right/wrong before finishing up the last half and the mixing/mastering side of things, it becomes a LOT harder to edit the mix at that point.

my favorite part has to be when the "synth solo" comes in around the last 3/4ths of the song, gave me legitimate tingles around my body.
this track also reminds me of a game called phantasy star online. kind of irrelevant but eh

Pretty damn cool. I have to agree Covalence on the "synth solo" being the best part. That's when the song really hit me. Just wish that part was longer. Perhaps incorporate some of that solo in the beginning? Idk...

Other than that, it has good build ups and stuff. Definitely something I would listen to on a regular basis. Keep it coming! Good job dude.

bush league at best. I can't give any specific advice for this track, since I think the problem is in what you think sounds good. Try listening to some popular trance producers and figure out why it works. Sorry if that sounds harsh--- wait, no i'm not.

i enjoyed it. probably would've sounded better if it didn't have the same theme throughout cuz i expected a bit of a change up for a four minute song but i see you've come a long way

That was pretty sweet. I don't really know anything about making music, so I'm just gonna tell you what I liked. I think the layered sounds throughout the song are really good. The transitions between different synths was also seemd to flow well. I think the reason the synth solo stands out so much is because the rest of the song doesn't have a strong melody. If you added a melody the more of the song and had it change with the transitions you already have that would be great.

Honestly I'm kind of pissed. I've been here for over 6 years, helped zulu get the NTF going when it first started, used to be a mod, spent hours upon hours running the SPP awards just for the hell of it.. but when I post one thread asking for some feedback to help me with my music, in a section where people will actually see it instead of having it rot in a virtually dead subforum, that's unacceptable? This thread had to be moved to the appropriate place, instead of just letting it slide once? God forbid I distract from the important threads like a haiku thread or "ban the above retard".

yeah i also found this pretty annoying. Also the mod not making themselves known like usual was pretty classy.
