Would it be wrong of me to laugh extremely hard right now? I assume so. I recommend The following anime. Real men watch these anime:

  • Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood
  • Cowboy bebop
  • Ghost in the shell: Stand alone complex. Second Gig, as well.
  • Bleach
  • Angel beats
  • Evangelion
  • Psycho pass
  • Hellsing
  • Soul Eater

Remove Bleach, swap out Angel Beats for Nagi no Asukara and add Tonari no Seki-kun and you've got a thumbs up from me. Though, you conversation with Scarecrow makes me wonder if you've actually seen Hellsing... Either way, welcome and I hope you make yourself at home here.

As for Highschool of the dead... I would rather not post THAT little beauty in my list. Rumor has it that there are actual females on the prowl in this forum. It would be best to not aggravate them. And I've never seen trigun. What genre is it? I may have to look into it.

None of the female members would get upset about a bunch of teenage boys talking about ecchi, they're above that, though like me, they may judge you for it.
Also, Trigun is a 1998 action, comedy, sci-fi series that follows the most wanted man on the planet as he travels around getting into various shenanigans. It's good fun for the most part. Do recommend.

Also. Guys... Guys, it's here. It's finally here, and I am so fucking erect.

After scarecrow and I conversed about Hellsing, I watched a few episodes. Around three or four minutes into the first episode, I got overly creeped out, and watched TFS abridged versions of it. If you want to know how much I enjoyed it, take the time to realise that I went from knowing nothing about it, to including it in my list of anime that real men watch. And thank you, youwishjellyfish. Nice to meet you. And H.O.T.D is certainly not one of the anime im proud of watching, don't get me wrong. In fact, the unneeded panty-flashing got annoying around episode two. I'm more into comedy and action.

The lack of Baccano on that list disturbs me.

So you actually haven't seen Hellsing Ultimate? So you're recommending shows that you actually haven't seen? Are you Raptor?

Okay, cheekiness aside, I just marathon'd DBZ abridged because Jeff spoke highly of it, and to be honest I'm surprised how much I enjoyed it. I don't think it started off to great but about 10-15 eps in it had me literally laughing out loud, and at once stage I actually spat what I was drinking. But more than anything what surprised me was that it awakened the childhood crush I had on 18... It actually explains a lot... But that's beside the point.

Speaking of abridged series, Gigguk's Evabridged is surprisingly good. The first episode was a bit meh, but the rest got a fair amount of chuckles out of me.

I believe a few of us have. Raptor does a pretty good job of summing up my thoughts on it, though, as always I disagree with a few things he think.
Buuuuuuut, here you go.

What were your thoughts on it?

Anyone have an opinion on durarara? I always get mixed feelings about it. And the celty fanfictions disturb me.

Of course I have an opinion, I always have an opinion.

Durarararararara is a pretty great show, it's first half is absolutely amazing but I felt like everything went a bit down hill from the mid way mark. By no means in the second half bad, it's just a let down after such a brilliant opening. Having the focus on three highschool kids kinda killed it for me a bit, while it really wasn't a generic highschool anime at all, it still had it's vibe just because they were the leads.

It also has the massive problem of while they are generally interesting people, they are probably the most dull out of the cast. Making me sit back and go "Booo, get on with it! I want copious amounts of Shizou and Izaya!".

On the plus side, Celty is voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro and Anri is voiced by Kana Hanazawa, and I adore both of these girls. Side note Hanazawa's hands down best work is in Zetsuen no Tempest.

edit: oh yeah, if you liked Durarararara then give Baccano a go, Raptor and myself would argue that it's better than Durarara (though I guess Hewhew would fight us on that one), so yeah, give it a go.
Annnnnnd obligatory Tonari no Seki-kun plug.

I enjoyed it, but like you, I was mostly bored with any episodes that didn't contain Izaya and Shizou fighting. As for baccano, I'll give it a try.

I don't think Hewitt ever saw Durarara.

Yeah I agree, I really enjoyed the first half of Durarara but the second half was a really big letdown imo.

Let me put it this way: Baccano is much better than Durarara.
It's also my favorite anime as of yet.

Can you expound on Durara as I will be coming from the other way

I'm pretty sure I've seen him recommend it more than once as well... Has he been pulling my leg? I won't believe it!

I also feel Myself lurking about. Dude, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU is getting a second season. Get keen!
God I hope it was you that loved that show, otherwise this is going to be awkward.
