Baccano is the shit.

The English dub is the best too, which is pretty rare.

Actually there are a few shows like that I can think of.
Baccano, the old American voices and accents really do it justice.
DBZ *No brainer, I don't like Goku sounding like an adolescent little girl.*
Hellsing, in my honest opinion, can't go wrong with Alucards English voice. And Japanese father Anderson is so much fail I want to die.
Cowboy bebop, man I know a lot of people would disagree, but shit, Spikes English voice and quotes are too damn good, on top of that the rest of the cast is pretty incredible, especially whoever played as Vicious.
Samurai champloo, Mugens got the same voice actor as Spike in bebop and the rest of the cast is awesome for voice acting too.
Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, another one that a lot of people would really disagree with, but the voice cast has really matured in their voice acting abilities and I mean c'mon. And that scene where he gets impaled by the pipe, that screaming man.

Edit: Desert punk, those fucking english jokes man OH MY GOD HAHAHAH.

I've finished the last of TTGL's parallel works; fun little gimmicks and spin-offs I may add.
Also just got into SAO, the story is abit above average for me, but those effects and animation are pretty eye catching.

Hello, all. I've recently developed a growing interest in anime (before it was just an on/off hobby). Would anyone be so kind as to recommend an anime that might appeal to someone who enjoyed Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo? Mind you, it doesn't need to be strikingly similar since I'm not quite sold on the non-continuous narrative style and a few other aspects. Preferably something with depth, a memorable and appealing character cast, and something distinctive (whether art, sound track, style, etc). I'd really appreciate the recommendations. Thanks : )

I would recommend Code Geass, Soul Eater and Dragon Haven. I would recommend more, but my memory is failing me. Damn my shoddy memory! >.<

eviltie I think you're muddling what's easy to draw with what's fun to draw.

I think he's confusing what's popular with what's difficult. Just because a majority of art on DA is anime doesn't mean that it's the easiest to draw.

Like if you went back a few hundred years and the only music that was being made was classical music and there was some random dude playing the blues would you say that obviously it's easier to compose a symphony because thats what everybody is doing?

I'm pretty sure some 13 year old saw Naruto and was like "Wow I want to draw like this!" so they went on the internet to learn how to draw it and found out that DA is like the mecca for that shit so they started posting on there. It really has nothing to do with ease, but what they're interested in and where people of similar interests will be found.

The 2nd one's. Tanks Collab lmfao. I have to admit, these are pretty awesomely done. I think I've actually seen the 1st one some time ago. It looks pretty familiar. The 3rd one looks like an extremely well done easytoon. I'm actually inspired by it; thanks for linking. High-school of the Dead is quite good too. Yet there's a thing that kind of bothers me almost every time - the lipsyncs (the lack of it, to be exact). It always looks like the animators got too lazy to animate a proper lipsync after drawing all the backgrounds, characters and various stuff.

If you just simply drew "anime" one day and thought it was "ok", then I can't imagine your stardards being any higher than the typical Pokemon/Bleach/DBZ/shounenshit you so commonly see on western television.

"some shit." (Click to Show)

^Self-advertising and whining.

Akira had some great lipsync animation. And it'd probably be bad to compare an everyday anime to disney movies and such cause the difference in budgeting is too much. And other cartoons like the simpsons and what not just use preset lipsync animation anyway

this is really well done lol.
