Good to know we have more active watchers around here. I was afraid this thread would only circulate between Smile, Drone, and I after Jelly peaced out.

I believe there's a translated article from that source (or you can Google Translate it lol)

Let me translate it

[/hr]
In an interview of Charlotte's Producer Mitsuhito Tsuji, He said that the attractiveness of Charlotte is how the Superpower user interact with others, and also the development of the story is always at high tempo and tension, such original story full of fun, tears, music and comfortable environment.

The main purpose of P.A Works are making the Jun Maeda's scenario in a visual (anime) format as pure as possible.
The film director Yoshiyuki Asai emphasized every superpower character, so that each of them (superpower users) can leave the impression for the audience even in a fast tempo story, So there'd be no "Uhh.. What's the power that he had before?" question. To prevent that, they emphasize the drama and visual effects when the power are used.

But the most difficult part of making Charlotte is how to cut Jun Maeda's scenario into 13 eps. anime, his scenario is extremely long and it's too hard to condense it without removing the important part of the story

"Also, Jun Maeda's scenario meeting had done every weekend at Aniplex office, and it's too far from our headquater. Besides, there's another difficult problems, but i can't tell it right now lol." Said (laughing) Mitsuhito

Before he (Mitsuhito Tsuji) ends the interview, Mitsuhito want to give a message for the fans of Charlotte, which reads: "People like that can be changed".

Thanks for the translation. I mean P.A. Works recognized the problem, so I think they should have at least tried to make it at least more than 13 episodes. OR not be as faithful as they wanted to be. Instead they tried to make a middle ground of shoving so much into such little space that it just ended up looking too sloppy. Maybe the difficult problem that the producer was talking about was that they couldn't, for one reason or another, make it into a 24/25 episode anime. I mean I admire how they really wanted to keep it as complete as possible, but they're the professionals and I'm sure they've already figured out that doing so while keeping the show solid was not going to happen.

I feel like this is some bullshit, because they could have definitely done a better job pacing the show with a second season, and now here it is, except it's after the damage has already been done, sigh.
fuckin PA works man, the definition of hit or miss

Woah drone calm down your opinions are breaking the Internet.

I liked Smokin Parade because of the over the top stuff, and I'm glad the main character isn't a wuss.

a second season would be nice, yeah. unfortunately it's not uncommon for them to just do one series to advertise the source material (ie. the light novel). they might be doing the same thing with overlord, too, which bums me out

Do you remember at the complete end of Season 1 (after the outro) when Sora and Shiro challenged an Old Deus? Well in the LN this only occurred at the end of the 6th volume.
The first season of the anime covers volume 1-3, meaning they pretty much *passed over volumes* 4-5 and went straight to the end of 6. The game with the Old Deus vs Sora and Shiro hasn't happened yet in the LN, this is why we really needed that 7th volume to continue the story of the anime.
If only they hadn't done that cliffhanger ending.

We could've possibly had a second season by now, well probably not. They need alot of extra source material to be out. That gives people a reason to buy Original material. So it will probably take quite a while.
