I mean yeah it's pretty iconic. Or at least as someone who's watched OPM, it's very recognizable and it's not even trying to be subtle about it. Which I guess would be part of the humor, but it's irritating me personally.

The anime is just mimicking the manga's art style, and the original artist is just someone who draws purposely sloppily and basic, so it's not really intentional. Mob Psycho 100 started publishing before OPM became really popular.

Just finished all three seasons of FMP. Thank you Miccool for that lmao. It was okay, but I probably wouldn't recommend it just on virtue that S1 is fucking awful and the longest of the three seasons. Though I did enjoy the 2nd and 3rd seasons, so honestly I would recommend it to more people just because there might be more demand for a fourth.

Anyway, starting Shirobako next.

Alright! fuck it, I admit it, TSR was good and so was Fumoffu. I'll give you that. S1 was still trash.

Shirobako's one of my favorite anime. Probably like, in my top 5 list of favorite anime. I haven't actually made a top 5 list though so I'm not sure but still I really enjoyed it.

So I saw three episodes of the Log Horizon anime. And it was good. Not great but good. It has an interesting setup and treats the "trapped in an MMORPG'' setting right. The characters are good and I am interested to see what happens next. Although it did have many of the anime tropes I dislike e.g. bad humour*, token characters, tsunderes, grunts etc. But as I said I will continue watching it to see what happens.

*maybe I don't like it because Japan has a different style of humour?

Edit: Oh and it had long monologues. I really hate those too.

I watch Log Horizon.
I'm still watching season 2 though, I kinda backed off for a while, cause it got too "oh man lets really, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, emphasize how this one character misses the other while they're on a trip"

Edit: monologues suck
except Shiro monologues, I do love hearing some elaborate plan that would of never guessed get opened up like a csgo crate (except less disappointing)

I just realized how hard it is to make a list of my top five favorite anime series. I made one but the top 2-4 are pretty much obligatory that can be switched around and 5 is a tie among a lot that I just decided to put Shirobako in because I said it probably would be there.

1. Hunter x Hunter (2011)
2. Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru (and Zoku)
3. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
4. Steins;Gate
5. Shirobako

How about you guys?

Probably some combination of Baccano, Cowboy Bebop, Steins;Gate, Ping Pong, and From the New World. If movies count, Princess Mononoke and Howl's Moving Castle might be on that list. TTGL, Black Lagoon, SNAFU, Barakamon, and Samurai Champloo all deserve special mentions.

I'm surprised you liked Zoku so much, I didn't really personally.

o yea I forgot ping pong. It'd probably be the actual number 5. I was thinking of which to pick for 5 between Shirobako, Barakamon, Mushishi and Toradora (I know I said before that I hated Toradora but now I don't), so I guess these anime would be tied for 6 now.

Why I like Zoku (arranged according to priority)
1. It's still SNAFU
2. Yui becomes true best girl on the latter part of it
3. Iroha was introduced

Why didn't you like it?

I don't remember you ever saying this. In fact, I remember the exact opposite.

It was overly melodramatic and incredibly slow-paced. Unlike S1, it also followed one single arc the whole way through, which made it less varied and interesting compared to S1.

After watching it the first time I said it was boring and didn't make me feel anything. It's somewhere here, I'll try to look for it.

I agree it was slow paced but other than that I didn't really mind how melodramatic it was because I still liked the overall development of the characters and because I loved the first SNAFU enough that it could do no wrong for me after that lol.

EDIT: I found my post-watch post about Toradora http://forums.stickpage.com/showthread.php?35617-The-Anime-manga-thread-(-recommendations!)&p=1130385&viewfull=1#post1130385

The Cockpit OVA was legit surprisingly good. While episode 1 is especially heavy on the melodrama and episode 3 isn't about aircraft. But both are still a good watch in their own right, above the standards of story telling of many current anime I'd say.

Episode 2 though "The cockpit of Reiji Matsumoto" can kick your feels into full on fuckin' overdrive. Great episode, absolutely love it.

I really wish I could post spoilers or go into depth about it, but at only three episodes I feel like I'd be cheapening an experience that you don't need explained to you. Just watch it and see for yourself if you haven't already.

I just don't want to discuss it until I know someone has at least seen it.

I think I laughed harder at Index's response.

Plus, 2013? Holy shit, how far back did you look

511 pages.

No but I just searched "toradora" in this thread and I eventually found it. He was incredibly passionate about Toradora at the time so I felt bad for not liking it too :c
