Please do. I desparately need a guy to talk to this with.

Also fair warning, it starts really slow. It gets better after the first acting gig

Ive only just seen it myself. I'll play it soon then lets talk about it XD

The sequel being made is about the 4th game and is made by a different team inspired by this game. They're adding a Duwang mode XD

Alright reviving this dead af thread.

Since Fall 2016 ended, I wanted to do my seasonal reviews. I actually decided to write a bunch of (LONG ASS) MAL reviews, so I'll just link the ones I wrote long ones for here.

As in intro, Fall 2016 might be THE WORST anime season I've ever watched. Almost everything that came out this season was varying levels of mediocre to just straight terrible.

Would Recommend

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable
Jojo (Click to Show)

Don't really know how to feel about it tier

3-Gatsu no Lion
3-gatsu (Click to Show)

Wouldn't Recommend

Drifters
Drifters (Click to Show)

Flip Flappers
Flip Flappers (Click to Show)

Yuri!!! on Ice
Yuri (Click to Show)

Working (Click to Show)

Occultic;Nine
Occultic (Click to Show)

*Note: I dropped Keijo too after three episodes. Just to give a brief reason why, it took itself too seriously. I would've enjoyed it more if it didn't. It was too cringe.

I actually wanted to bump this but was too lazy.

Raptor did you see my Chat Thread post? Osomatsu-san XD Have you seen it? I saw a DVD collection when I was in Japan and googled it when I got home.

Also, I just finished BLEACH. Like, in a week. To see what the fuss was about. Like Gantz, I'm so glad I wasn't with it for the past 12 years. I have very mixed feelings; but I think we can both agree that it should've ended after Aizen. Tite Kubo is like the manga version of Hideo Kojima. They're both the master of Ass Pull---just mentioning plot stuff out of the blue and fitting it as if that was the plan all along. On the one hand, he's pretty good at it. On the other, its an Ass Pull.

It's a shame that Drifters did not focus on its strength on the action fights or the historical resources. If only it could branch it out a bit more from the manga.

And damm, the season seems pretty horrible. Are you sure you aren't being too harsh on it?

Are you thinking about making like a definitive ranking on anime in 2016? Or even in general?

Well I dunno. Outside a few fight scenes here and there and the great art it has, I've never really found Bleach that great. I guess it should've ended after Aizen, but I don't really feel like it made much of a difference.

No I'm not. It was really awful this year.

This year was pretty bad, so I don't feel motivated to do a real in-depth one. I think if I were to rank it, it would roughly go like this.

1. Konosuba
2. Mob Psycho 100
3. Jojo Part 4
4. Tanaka is Listless
5. She and Her Cat: Everything Flows
6. Boku no Hero Academia
7. Erased
8. 91 Days
9. Flip Flappers
10. I guess Re: Zero?

I don't think anything under 7 is worth talking about and I don't think anything below 4 is worth recommending, and none of these I would really consider to be anime of the year material. Nothing this year was as good as OPM or Death Parade from 2015. 2015 also had better overall sequels. I think when your four top anime of the year is comprised of two comedies and two relatively mindless actions, I think you've had a lackluster year. If you take out Jojo for being a sequel and She and Her Cat for being an OVA, this list looks even worse.

Then again, there's also this: https://myanimelist.net/anime/28735/Shouwa_Genroku_Rakugo_Shinjuu. This came out this year and has an insanely high score, but I've never seen it before. So maybe this is the secret GOAT anime of the year but idk

Okay, just reply in the anime thread

Yeah, sad I missed this then. I probably won't get to it at this time cuz there's a lot of stuff in my queue like GitS.

Oh I totally agree. I voluntarily chose to read this steaming pile of shit because I needed brainless manga after having just read tons of intellectual ones in a row. Suddenly the title BLEACH makes alot more sense.

It's just, if I had to put a value to it, it would be that. Slightly below Gantz, not the worst thing I've read but just disappointing. You'd think a 50+ volume manga would have SOME value. And I don't know if you've actually read it or remember, but when Aizen got defeated the plot tied itself up. You can feel the exact moment Kubo could've closed the book and said "Well done."

But then in the next chapter, in exactly the next chapter, you get an "epilogue" typical of a final chapter only it ends on a Mysterious Man going "I found you Ichigo." and it is at that moment that your heart sinks into the reality of the situation. It is at that exact moment that Kubo signed his own death sentence. Plot device after plot device after meaningless plot, a villain who CANNOT be defeated and is the epitome of OP, minions who are stupidly OP that even the powered up final form of Gotei 13 could never defeat, extra characters further pushed back into the limelight, and a training sequence that never pays off. That's the hell that awaits you if you ever choose to go past Aizen.

Think I'm gonna read FMA next. If you have some lesser-known faves feel free to suggest.

Don't know what exactly you're looking for, but have you read Solanin?

No, I'll check that out.

I'm looking for anything that isn't commonly known. Plus points if it's complete but if its long like Btooom or Tower of God, its fine.

Also, I'm running a Danganronpa mafia game. Would you like to join?

Nah, I'm a bit busy at the moment.

Solanin is complete, but it isn't very long. Pluto if you haven't read it already, the Nausicaa manga is really good, Homunculus, and Planetes you might've read but idk.

Aside from that, you've pretty much read everything else that I'd recommend.

Would it be possible with a season 3 with someone else as the main char and going through like different sets of games and ended somehow killing Akashi and outrage Ushimitsu. So it would be like that guy vs the god in the final game? No? Am I just overexpecting it?

It ended differently from the anime, that's all it matters.

Yes.

It really didn't. If anything I liked the anime ending more.
