Damn I can't believe nobody told me Nisekoi ended months ago, I thought it would go for longer.

But I guess 199 chapters was the limit of the author :')

??? The chapters are in the 200's right now.

Ajin is an extremely interesting manga, particularly because I've never seen a villain like that before. It's fantastic.

I wonder how will the season 2 will start off as it ends differently in the season 1 compared to the manga. Satou is really something else.

199 seemed like a fine ending to me but I guess the rest are ok too just as long as best girl still wins

I'm enjoying it a lot more than I expected, but there are still a few things that I dislike about it a lot that I might rant about later.

Legit speaking tho, Nisekoi would end up as nothing more than laughable story telling (more than what it already is for a lot of people) if my best girl doesn't win, especially with the recent developments. The MC's lack of struggle in justifying chasing my best girl halfway around the world (as opposed to his reluctance to save a sideho because he knows he feels nothing for her) is a dead give away. Chapter 221 is probably the author just fucking with the fans of the strongest sideho to make them believe they actually have a chance. Everyone with half a brain can see it coming because it's the resolution that the author has always been not-so-subly hinting at for the entire story. Hell, it's the outcome that the premise in the first place has set up. It would be a horrible love story if there's no interesting development at all.

The anime or the manga? The anime is good, but I think the art and pacing suit the manga better.

Regardless, it's fucking great. I love it so much.

I know you're making a legit point here, but this quote is just so funny to me taken out of context.

Oh I'm all up to date with anime. I meant I've read 60 chapters of the manga in a day.

TBH the anime adaptation does a pretty good job, idk what you're talking about. The manga is great but I love seeing everything animated too. The voice cast is doing a great job and the OST is pretty rad

Oh I'm not saying it's bad at all (and when it really comes down to it I don't think there's a massive difference between the anime and the manga, just little stylistic preferences that I simply think the manga has an upper hand on), I just think the way the art style is done in the manga suits the visual aesthetics and atmosphere more than the art style of the anime does. (Let me preface this by saying this is completely a stylistic preference). To give you a specific example, I'll do a side by side comparison of a specific scene.

Chapter 1 (Click to Show)

Personally, I prefer the former. I think Kouhei just does a fantastic job with lines in his manga and I think this is a pretty good example. I like how the manga portrayed this scene and the build-up as intense, and while I have nothing against the anime's portrayal, it was mellowed out more and interpreted to be more sentimental. There are a number of reasons why I think the former is just a better way of interpreting it, but I don't want to go into too much detail.

There are a few scenes here and there in the anime where I felt this way. I also dislike the way that Bakugo's VA is done. I understand he's supposed to have a raspy voice all the time, but I think they really overdo it in a few scenes (like when he just breathes). I cite episodes 7 and the beginning 8 to show what I mean. Speaking of Episodes 7 and 8, the anime does this Dragon Ball thing where they really drag on the confrontation between Bakugo and Midoriya. And finally the thing that bothers me the most is that the anime doesn't add the American state before All Might and Midoriya do their smash attack (like DETROIT SMASH) and that bothers me to no end.

Ultimately though, there aren't really drastic or unforgivable changes that make me want to have a vendetta against the anime (unlike Tokyo Ghoul cough cough). I still really like the anime, I just prefer the manga more and how it's drawn.

So I watched OPM and in my view.... it was good. Not great but good. It had nice action, nice animation and sometimes good comedy. Though it seemed kind of overrated from the criticism I've heard. Don't get me wrong. It was a pretty enjoyable show but it didn't really have anything special. And the things that were special were downplayed. For example the subversive scenes that challenged some anime tropes were comedy gold. Like this scene were someone drops an extreme pile of exposition, which is kinda expected from animes, and the other character gets so angry and tells him to shut up. That was perfect. But I would like to see a bit more of that. Furthermore the first episodes didn't really progressed much of the plot. They set up some characters that were ultimately useless, at least for now, and had little character development. Okay there was some but... it wasn't that strong. So overall it had good ideas and if I wouldn't hear so much praise for this show I wouldn't be as disappointed. Or maybe I would abandon the show at the first few episodes because it didn't have any actual cohesive story or arch, not unlike an unfocused melody. So guess it is the praise that made me watch the whole show and I'm glad I did. Though even if I had seen more than a dozen of animes it still wouldn't be in my top 5. Perhaps not even in my top 10.
